Easy walking distance from train station, car park nearby and near main shopping area. Warm and friendly greeting, this was a wedding anniversary treat and our room was large with robes, complimentary water, rose petals on the bed, chocolates and a card - extras that we were not expecting. Dinner was included in our room offer,it was very busy and we had a long wait. If we had been kept informed we would not have been so disappointed. Starter of pate good but the steak was tough even though it was medium rare. Excellent cheeseboard selection and staff very helpful in assisting with the choice. We slept well, the room location was quiet and the quality of bed linen, duvets and pillows excellent. When checking out we mentioned the disappointing dinner and were offered complimentary breakfast which was well cooked. This was our first experience of Malmaison Hotels and we will returrn, good value, friendly staff and quality accommodation.

The hotel was booked on a recommendation from a relative and was ideally located to gain access to leeds city centre. We parked at Q Parking for which the hotel has a discount arrangement, this being 1 minute walk from hotel. Upon arrival, check in was very quick and professional and we had a pleasant chat, the receptionist booking a place at a restaurant, that we were unable to book ourself ... so we were pleased about that also.

We went to our room which was lovely and spacious and had a warming and personal touch, with an anniversary card and complimentary bottle of wine for our celebration. Even with passing traffic outside, the sound that could be heard was very low and okay.

The bar and brasserie were nice and cosy and a great deal of effort had been taken with the furnishings and decorations to give a boutique hotel feel. The roads nearby had a collection of other eating establishments and bars, which we tried with success, all this being very relaxed and stress free.

In the morning, we went down to breakfast and were served promptly and with a smile, nothing being too much. The breakfast itself was very good quality with a reasonable selection, the main portion being served to diners, with plentiful portions. We then went for an hours walk near the river and dock area and checked out before noon.

We are critical no matter where we stay and would rate the malmaison very highly and cannot wait for an opportunity to visist leeds again and stay here again. Every member of staff were very helpful and smiling and must be rated 10 out of 10. On the negative front, we have nothing but praise, which is why we felt motivated to write this review. I cannot imagine anyone not liking the hotel ... a great overall effort to provide everyone with a nice place to stay.

My partner and I stayed recently at the Malmaison in Leeds on a Saturday night break recently - we like eating at Bibi's next door so it's handy for a staggered walk back and it's also very close by the shops.
On arrival we parked at Q-Park where the hotel has an overnight preferred rate of £10 instead of £13. The hotel does not have its own car park.
Check in was swift and the pleasant receptionist soon had us on our way to the standard room we had booked, located on the fourth floor.
The corridors are quite dark but that had a touch of elegance to it and I had no problems with this.
The room itself felt nice and modern. It was quite small and view was over to some apartments but then we did buy the cheapest of the cheap rooms I guess.
In the room we had a minibar, crisps and flat screen television with spacious bathroom. All fixtures and fittings seemed to work ok and the bed was big enough for a standard room, but not the largest I have ever had.
At breakfast time, we were dazzled by the vast array of choice! Boy, this hotel knows how to feed people! We had a range of things from the buffet and ordered smoked salmon with scrambled egg which was delicious.
We paid £119 booking six weeks out for a standard double room, including full English breakfast for two. I thought that this was excellent value for money and this hotel is one we will definitely return to.
The only thing that let this hotel down, and it will only apply to a small range of customers, is that there is no free wifi. Hotels like the City Inn and Radissons are now offering this as routine.

We took advantage of the Secret Sunday deal, we booked a standard room. I really can't fault anything! Maybe we were lucky but our room was quiet and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel is stylish and the service was excellent throughout, There were lots of special little touches which made the place feel special.
We had a meal for four in the Brasserie which was delicious and beautifully presented, each of us was delighted with our meal.
Breakfast was again a pleasure, What more can I say?! The next time we come to Leeds we will definately stay here again, and look forward to staying at a different Malmaison hotel too!

This is the Mal so my expectations are always high when I stay at these hotels and I wasn't entirely dissapointed.
The room was impeccable as always.
The service in the bar was excellent, especially when ordering an array of cocktails. (although quite pricey)
The staff are friendly and a discount wsa given for a late booking.
Overall it was a great stay once again.
