Not sure why but I always have high expectation of these hotels, perhaps it's the name or it could be the types of building they use...
The nights stay was OK, room was clean, and comfortable, even had free wifi.
Minor issue was the tea/coffee in room facility has that horrible UHT tubs of milk, why can hotels not ask you when you check in if you would like a small jug of milk?

Overall impression is it sounds great, looks great but left with a vanilla experience!!!!

Why can they not do a deal with a local car park to get a discounted rates for guests or offer a valet service?

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel from 15th November. We`d come to do some Christmas shopping and to visit the Christmas market
The hotel was just wonderful. The reception girls were all unfailingly polite, cheerful and extremely helpful. We had the prix fixee meal at the brasserie on the Friday night where the food was lovely and the service excellent. We heard some other diners saying the service was slow, but I disagree. if I`m out enjoying a meal I don`t want to be rushed from 1 course to another and be out in an hour... we enjoy the whole dining experience. We also treated ourselves to a cocktail in the bar afterwards, well with such a good choice it would be rude not to! We can also recommend the breakfast, especially the Eggs Benedict. Help yourself to cerials, pastries, juice etc then a served hot breakfast all accompanied by lashings of good hot strong coffee which sets up up nicely for a busy day.
The bed was very comfortable, and the bath was extremely soothing after a long day`s shopping, especially with such lovely toiletries provided.
I`d certainly recommend this hotel if you want something a bit different, somewhere central and somewhere with staff who genuinely seem to care that their guests have a great time
Special mention to Kirsty on Reception and Chris in the Brasserie..... top staff.

Great location, car park opposite which is reasonably priced.

Just around the corner from Brigate, so easy for shopping.

Staff were helpful and friendly.

Bar has great selection and is reasonably priced.

Breakfast was great too!

Stayed there for one night with the other half on a last minute thing, stayed at Mals a few times but this is looking tired and there are better hotels in Leeds for similar money, wasn't dirty or disgusting by any means but, in my opinion malmaisons star is on the wane. On the plus side the staff were very nice

Overall a great hotel with many plus points:
- Food very good, breakfast in particular was fantastic.
- Room was comfortable and warm, bath room well equipped.

Unfortunately a couple of minor gripes - seemed slightly tired in places, a few grubby carpets and one of the taps in my room leaked.

Major issue for me was the total non-functioning of the wifi in the hotel. Staff worked hard to try and resolve it but it couldn't be fixed which was a fairly major inconvenience. The staff were fairly unapologetic, pointing out the wifi is complimentary - true, however it's a big selling point of the Malmaison group during the week and I'd choose the hotel for the free wifi alone over cheaper competitors.

Lovely hotel. Convenient for Leeds rail and city centre, but quiet and peaceful. Excellent food - bar and restaurant. Quick and friendly reception. Small but quiet gym. Very good late room deal. Very comfortable, clean room with quiet efficient heating/ air con.
