We had a riverboat ride on the Leeds - Liverpool Canal. It was very relaxing to just watch the world go by.

Lovely walk along the historic canal bank, spoiled only by selfish cyclists who insist on riding way too quickly on a busy towpath. Enjoy your stroll, but keep a lookout for the Bradley Wiggins wannabes!

Rented bikes for the day and we rode along the canal up to Kirkstall Abbey. Fun way to spend a few hours meandering along the canal.

we had an absolutely brilliant weeks holiday on this canal. and although in total we only covered 35 miles in that week it felt like we had gone hundreds. the locks are so much fun, but hard work. the weather was not always in our favour, so the only advice i can give is pack spare clothes, so that you have time for yours to dry out, and that includes your footwear. the scenery is breathtaking, we saw baby ducks, swans and even little lambs being born in the fields as we were passing. brilliant holiday, truly restful to the mind if not the body...
