“Worth a visit on a summers day to watch England!!!”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Went to watch England vs New Zealand on a well I say a summers day more like a boiling hot day in spring! It was a great day but with sunburn occurring but that didn't let the day down. Also another good thing was I was on sky sports which was even better but back to the review.
The seating and stadium is modern with an excellent view all around the stadium. The stadium has no flood lights and this can be a problem on a night cricket match but you don't get many of them. Also another bad point is that you get bags searched and you can only take in SEALED BOTTLES and NO CANS OR OPENED BOTTLES. The pints are £4 which yes is very dear but you are out for the day so enjoy it! But overall you have a great day at cricket!!!

“Great day but!”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We have just returned from watching the test on Sunday overall it was a fantastic occasion , the game , the weather and the stadium.
We were sat in the Western terrace which had brilliant leg room better than most football grounds i have been to and also a great view of the pitch.
All day the atmosphere was great with a lot of banter and humour going on , all very well behaved though. That is until late in the day after tea when two large stewards tried to eject a group of lads dressed as power rangers. Nobody knew why , there were lots of families around us no one had been insulted or upset by them in fact quite the opposite, even an off duty policeman tried to reason with the stewards but to no avail.
Eventually two policemen arrived asked us what was going on and eventually calmed the situation down .
The lads were allowed to stay which received huge roars and cheers
The rest of the stewards and staff were brilliant and cannot wait to go again against the Ozzies

“Best day out in a long time!!”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

I bought tickets for my husband's birthday for the second test match between England and New Zealand. I booked them in advance and wasn't sure where to sit but the lady that I spoke to when booking tickets was extremely helpful and advised me well. We travelled into Leeds on the train and were amazed that a taxi to the stadium was only £5.20! Our seats were great (in the west stand) which gave us a good view of the cricket and we were in the heart of the fun!! This was my first cricket match and I was worried about spending 7 hours watching it so had my trusty kindle in my bag which I did not look at once!! The layout of the stadium is great, so much space in between rows of seats and plenty of toilets. There was a huge variety of food and drink stalls which were reasonably priced for a stadium. One of the best parts of the day (as well as seeing Joe Root's 100) was the crowd. They were hilarious and entertaining. The stewards were professional and even when a couple of 'beer snakes' emerged (which appeared for some to be a covert operation to 'feed the snake so it could grow') they remained professional and not in any way hostile. On a final note...the wonderful Neil Wagner helped by enteraining the crowds! I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a great day out!

“Brilliant (When the suns out)”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Just watched England play New Zealand, great game. First day we sat in the North stand (Section Z) which has great seats with a brilliant view fairly tight up behind the bowlers arm. Be warned though, on a sunny day you will feel like you've lost out. Not a ray of sunshine all day whilst the rest of the stadium basked in the sun. On our second and third days we sat in the North East upper, another great view almost directly opposite (although uncovered this time) the North stand seats we had earlier. Plenty of bars available and other produce sellers such as Laithwaites wines which made lunch much nicer. The stewards at Headinlgey were excellent, always cheerful and very helpful. They really make a difference to the experience. Looking forward to the ODI against Australia now.
