I've stayed at the Queens half a dozen times in the last 12 months - each time for one night on a business trip. The standard of accomodation is always excellent, rooms are always clean and very well presented.
The best part though is the professional and courteous manner of the staff. Most hotels have this basic element right (but not all) and the Queens does it extremely well. It's the little things that make my stay - like sitting down in the bar and being served at my table, and the barstaff noticing when my glass is empty and offering a refill! Or just being welcomed back by the reception staff when they see I've stayed there before.
These are some of the nice touches I've experienced at the Queens but not at other hotels of comparable price range (such as Jury's Inn or Ibis).
Only downer on my last stay was poor TV reception in the rooms which may have been as a result of the weather - though as the hotel wifi was free to guests (not sure if it's free for all guests or part of a corporate deal with the company I work for) this didn't matter as I could use my laptop instead.
Highly recommended anyway.More
