We got an offer through lastminute.com, being £205 for 3 nights bed and breakfast, so the room we got was a bit "snug". But perfectly adequate, a spotless bathroom, a good breakfast, the staff were great, and the location was wonderfully central. There's a lot for tourists in Leeds and surrounding area, (Salt's Mill at Saltaire, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park at Wakefield) and the Tourist Information place just round the corner has very helpful staff.

Hotel was fantastic - staff were very helpful and I had the pleasure of staying in the QClub - my room was absoltely awesome with a big bathroom and a lounge area -also had the use of the QLounge which provided free pastries and drinks.

Would totally recommend this to friends and would definately come back.

Room Tip: Try and stay in the QClub if money permits you too

My last visit to the Queen's was about 5 or 6 years ago and stayed there this time as i needed to be close to the station. Check in was a little laborious, with just one member of staff working on the desk.

The room was OK, but oh the net curtains. I imagine they looked great in the 60s when they were new, but in my room they looked dirty. The bathroom was a little tight and in need of a refresh.

I slept well in a comfortable bed and breakfast was good

Dear Raetia

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of The Queens, I am so pleased that many of the aspects of your stay were pleasurable, in particular the location which is as you say ideally located right next to the railway station.

With regard to your comment regarding the net curtains, unfortunately the ‘champagne’ colour often misleads guests to think that they are dirty I would like to assure you that this is not the case and are cleaned on a regular basis, however you will be pleased to know that we are looking to change these in due course.

I would also like to apologise regarding the timely check in process, please be assured that this is by no means our usual standard of service.

I do hope that this hasn’t tainted your view of The Queens and very much hope to welcome you back as our guest in the future.

Kind regards

I have to admit I got a good rate as well as an upgrade to a room with separate lounge/bedroom which made my stay excellent value for money. The reception staff on arrival and departure were very polite and friendly and I slept very well. It's excellently situated slap bang in the centre of Leeds so II really can't say anything against the hotel and I would most certainly consider returning there again.

We stayed for one night and this is a lovely hotel with great decor and features, it gives the sense of old world service with a style some of the newer hotels don't give. We arrived and had our car valet parked and seeing as we were short of time this was great and not in our opinion overly priced. The concierge service was excellent the same member of staff took our car and collected it and did so with a smile. When checking in the front desk was very efficient and although had a very serious face to him did it all that was needed. The room was clean, well spaced out and has everything in it that you would expect from this rating of hotel. The breakfast in the morning was very good, the staff again very pleasant. Our small problems were that as we checked in we requested a taxi, 10 minutes before we were due to leave we placed valuables in the room safe however, it did not work, we called reception and within 5 minutes a member of staff came to our room she was very apologetic and said there were no maintenance staff on so they could not get it fixed and the code on it meant it needed servicing, we could change rooms if we wished, as we had the taxi waiting we took the alternative option of using the hotel's safe boxes, problem fixed. When we arrived back at 1am our door key no longer worked and we had to go back to reception for help, again this was fixed. Small niggles and they were sorted out with smiles. I would like to add that the barman in the main bar was very helpful not just to us but with quite a few guests that came and went during the hour we were in there, he was polite and chatty and was telling us all about the hotel and how the other rooms and ballroom looked and the types of functions they held throughout the year. We didn't get his name but he said he normally worked in conference and banqueting but was doing a bar shift. An enthusiastic member of staff that should be in the marketing or sales department.

Dear maysey15

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed review of the hotel. I am absolutely delighted that the team did everything they possibly could to ensure you had a great stay. I am sorry however that you experienced difficulty with the safe in your bedroom, please be assured that this has now been fixed.

If you enjoyed your stay in the standard room, next time you stay you really should upgrade to QClub, our brand new executive rooms on the 8th Floor which gives you incredible luxury and fantastic views of the city centre and now that we’re coming into warmer climes, breakfast on the terrace is delightful.

We very much look forward to seeing you again soon.

Warm regards

We stayed for one night after a wedding. It was just what we needed - we got a good price, the room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and they let us check in at 10.00, before going to the wedding. So all good. Only downside were the lifts, which were not adequate to serve a busy hotel of this size. We had to wait ages for them to arrive each time, which was a bit annoying

So where do I begin, cant really say i normally go four star. In-fact cant normally say i end up in a hotel if i can find a short rental flat its always my preferred choice. I hate all the rigmarole of having people at breakfast and checking in etc, if i end up hotel-ing it its normally somewhere quick i can kinda roll into and roll out of.
However what can i say, I dont really give the impression of a 4 star stayer, infact im sure i look like I'd be staying at the e-tap however i was greeted no less politely than anyone else. Infact i was treated wonderfully. The hotel is a little retro inside but thats its charm. Its kinda like a little step back in time. Dont get me wrong its not dated, it just has the charm of a manor house, yet its in a city. enjoyed walking in, felt sad walking out.
i dont think i could give a better review.

Dear Powell106

Thanks for such a great review and hope that we have given you the bug for 4* hotels, there’s really nothing like having people look after you when you’re away and I can see from your review that we were able to provide a great service with a little old fashioned charm.
I really hope you visit again soon, we would be very glad to welcome you back as our guest.

Warm regards
