“Lovely room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Stayed for one night only on a coach holiday returning from Scotland. We had stayed here before, and remembered the beautiful and quiet accommodation, which did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly and pleasant.

We understand from friends locally that the Milford is renowned for good food, however we were slightly disappointed on this visit. We think that the restaurant is perhaps not really so interested in dealing with coach parties. Some of the seating was not ideal - if you were in the innermost seats of the 'train style' compartments with people you didn't really know, it was daunting to suggest getting up, as you would inconvenience two other people. (We are physically quite active, but other members of the coach party would not have managed to get in and out.) At breakfast, the cereals, fruit and milk were arranged in a confined space which gave insufficient access for a large party. The restaurant had asked that the whole party come to breakfast (and dinner) at the same time, which exacerbated the problem. There was also no choice - only either cooked breakfast or not.

Lovely hotel. Great reception and staff. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was beautifully modern with a great shower.
We ate in the restaurant and even though there was a coach party of French people in we were catered for with no delays.
Our room was in the annexe on the busy main road near the roundabout. Our windows were heavily glazed and didn't open which I thought might be a problem but the air conditioning was first class and I didn't feel the lack of an open window. We didn't hear the traffic noise either - excellent!
Loved the bedside lights which had an individual reading light thingy. Much appreciated.
Great hotel, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Modern, immaculately clean room with a very comfortable large bed, very friendly, helpful staff. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant which had a good menu, with plenty of choice and good value. The breakfast was excellent and cooked fresh I would definitely book to stay here again soon.

From the moment we arrived we were delighted we had booked this hotel. The reception is bright & attractive and the receptionist extremely friendly & welcoming. We were given a complimentary upgrade which we really appreciated - thank you.
The hotel is well furnished & decorated & spotlessly clean in all areas.
The bedroom was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable and the soundproofing superb so we were able to enjoy a peaceful night"s sleep.
The bathroom was gleamingly clean and well stocked with thick, fluffy towels and lovely complimentary toiletries Loved the steam free mirror!
We ate dinner & breakfast here & found the choice & quality of food good & the service very attentive. Every member of staff we came into contact with was friendly & professional. We had a wonderfully relaxing time here and will definitely book again when in the area. I would recommend this hotel unreservedly.

I went here to deliver a course for work. The room was fine, with a bathroom speaker which meant you could at least have a bath with the radio on if you wanted. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the only down side was the price of the beer. £4 a pint is far too expensive. A glass of house red £4.95. The food was quite good with a good variety on standard menu. There is not much to do with in walking distance as i found out but it's fine for a few days.

Room Tip: Room 33 is above the stairs. So you get slight pedestrian traffic noise throughout the day and night...

We stayed here on a Friday night as part of a long trip and had stayed in many different types of hotel. We had quite liked some of the quirky modern hotels however this is the traditional "American Style" off-motorway inn.
It surprised us on the upside. The staff were efficient, the rooms were large, well maintained, reasonably quiet, and very clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the linen was of good quality. The bathroom was very good and the Wifi and television were of good quality.
We ate dinner and breakfast the next morning at the Restaurant which was fine however it added significantly to our bill.
At 45 pounds the rate we had for the hotel represented excellent value.
