“Value budget stay”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

For £32 a night for 2 nights whilst we were decorating at home, I am unable to fault the value for money. Some reviews have criticised the rooms, but I couldn't complain unless I was paying over £80. The rooms are pretty dated but that's the case for many of the UK's 3 star hotels these days. If it was £60 a night I would still give it 3 stars so use that as a basis for my grading - it exceeded my expectations based on price.

Went here for a night while away on business and for £25 a room, i was well impressed.
£2.00 a pint for larger, and a 3 course meal for £12.50, albeit a basic meal, but I had no complaints.

The only thing I would say as a negative is that, the rooms don't have WIFI, you have to sit in the bar/reception area or restaurant to use it, but it's free!

good all round value.. rooms could do with a good cleaning. if updating is not going to happen..

reception staff and waitressing staff excellent . the price of drinks very good..

the food was on the whole excellent and plenty of it..

boxing night dinner however was a disaster..

reception area was delightful , but as soon as you went through the door to rooms the standards dropped..
huge car par and easy access to leeds via public transport

Room Tip: we stayed here for Christmas .. great value for money.. although the rooms could do with a good cl...

have just stayed 2nights in this hotel on half board. After reading the reviews i must say that i was a little dubious about staying here but i found all was okay even if the bathroom could do with some updating. The food was good, having a choice of two meats each evening plus a vegetarian option and plenty of veg and soup as a starter or salad. The sweets weren't up to much though. Both mornings there was cooked breakfast as well as cereals so dont know what people were moaning about, cant please some people!! For the price i paid i have no complaints and the staff were friendly.

Room Tip: i stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking car park which i found was ok

Hotel was cheap but still, ripped carpets??bar was reasonable priced and staff friendly.like most of britannia hotels the staff make do with what they've got.

Room was as expected for the price.

I booked through lastminute.com and got a room for £24. After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is easy to find, off the A64, and car parking is easy. My room was clean and very comfortable. There was a new flat-screen TV and free wi-fi. The receptionist told me that the wi-fi only worked in the lounge, but it worked fine in my room (116). The bathroom ceiling in my room could do with a fresh coat of paint, and some of the wooden doors in the corridors are a little scratched where guests have pushed suitcases along, but those are minor things - I'd happily stay there again. The receptionist was very helpful and photocopied a map of Leeds for me.

Room Tip: Room 115 was fine when I stayed there, and the wi-fi worked there.
