“Great City Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2009

We've just spent the Bank holiday here, 3 nights on the 3 for 2 promotion, so only paid £130 total. Great price for a great hotel. Marriott, as always lives up to a high standard with clean modern rooms and great staff services. We didn't have breakfast included and at £14.99 pp a bit pricey considering your in the central city so there are loads of cheaper options on your door step. Parking was quite expensive again as it is the city centre, so we managed to find parking on the outskirts.
Over all a fab stay in a great city, hope to visit again one day.

We stayed at the Leeds Marriott for three days (Friday to Monday) and got a 2 for 3 deal by booking directly with them (£130 3 nights room only)

We arrived about 11.30am and were greeted very warmly by reception and given a choice of rooms immediately (room with a view or quieter etc)

We chose a quieter room on the 5th floor overlooking the inside of the hotel – it actually had quite a good view over Leeds.

The room was of a high standard, nicely furnished with big flat screen TV and modern bathroom with bath & lots of toiletries. It was very quite within the hotel, but please be warned that Friday & Saturday nights are very busy & noisy in the town centre into the small hours, and whichever room you choose, some of this noise will be heard – the nice thing about the Marriott is that its in its own courtyard, so tucked away from the bustle of the town centre – a real advantage compared to other hotels we saw.

We used the hotel swimming pool a couple of times – it’s a reasonable size & very clean.

Only complaints – Internet in the rooms is very expensive & if you don’t have breakfast included its expensive at £15 per person – we went out to Wetherspoons.

The Marriott is very centrally located, 5 minutes from the station & a few minutes from most shops, restaurants & the excellent market.

So if you want a central base in Leeds we would certainly recommend this hotel.

I was on a business trip and stayed from July 11 - 15. The Marriott is in a courtyard off the main street and the sign is not easily visible. The room was very comfortable. They have not upgraded the TV yet but the bed was comfortable and the room had the standard teapot, cookies and decent sized bathroom. The hotel has a couple of levels per floor so you have to take a short flight of stairs from the lobby to the elevator and from the elevator to the rooms in the front of the hotel. I am a Platinum member and have access to the lounge. The lounge was somewhat small and not manned during most of the day. I stopped by several times in the evenings to get a beer and the cabinet was locked. The breakfast in the lounge was standard for a British hotel. The lounge is closed on Sunday morning so I was told I could have breakfast in the restaurant. There was an excellent selection and I helped myself to the breads, fruit and cereal. The hotel ended up putting on my bill but when I challenged the charge, they took it off. The hotel is centrally located and it is easy to walk to the main shopping streets and to restaurants on high street and across the canal. Parking at the nearby car park is 15 GBP per day but you pay for each time you stay, so it's better to pay for valet parking with in and out priveliges for 17 GBP. As usual with Marriott international hotels, the internet was very expensive at 15 GBP per day.

Checked in after a few minutes wait and greeted warmly. As a Marriott Rewards member I was thanked for my loyalty. Checked in quickly, advised where to find mmy room and asked if I needed any help with my bags - all very nice.

Room was on the 4th Floor and was a Standard room - it was quick compact though comfortable and consistent to Mariott's standards. I had a hefty supply of white towels which is always good. The bathroom looked rather dated and the grey sink unit was heavilly stained though clean.

Clean, comfortable and consistent for one nightv - nothing wow about the hotel but probably one of the best in Leeds right now, though Marriott do have some stiff competition.

Really enjoyed a night here as a stopover after a night out. The staff were extremely helpful (especially when we pitched up at 3am needing a room for a friend who had lost her handbag!).

The hotel is tucked away but within easy walking distance for everything in central Leeds. It has a lovely ambience and the room was clean and had everything we needed.

At £60 for a Friday night, it was definately worth the money.

I ordered breakfast in bed as a treat. At £18 it wasn't cheap but what the heck! It turned up and everything was luke warm (even the milk). The eggs overdone and bacon looked anaemic. I sent it back and was given a full refund and immediate apology - without having to demand these - so I forgave them and saved a few calories!
