Paid 35 pounds a night plus taxes for this hotel through priceline which is excellent value. A few minutes walk from train station. Comfortable and clean rooms. Check in good but was a queue for check out. Swimming pool was excellent and clean.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We booked early online, and the room-only deal was only £65. We requested an early check-in and extra pillows - both requests were met. Check-in was prompt - the staff were friendly and efficient. Every area of the hotel seemed clean and well-maintained. The bed was extremely comfortable, when we discovered it until the mound of pillows. It turned out that we didn't really need those extra pillows, as the ones supplied were all high-quality feather pillows. We enjoyed making use of the swimming pool, which had lengthy opening hours. Lack of parking might be an issue for some, but it's a common one in the centre of Leeds and the hotel is very close to the train station and Leeds city centre. We stayed here to attend a Christmas party elsewhere in Leeds, and this would definitely be our first choice again next year.

Good central location and quite easy to find using a combination of sat nav and well positioned signs. We used the valet car parking which cost £16 however NCP car parks could also be used. I tend to prefer hotels with car parks and this was a slight drawback.
Check in staff were fine although we did arrive early but were unable to check in until 3:00 which I found a little annoying. All the staff we encountered were very postive.
Room was that of 4 star quality although the TV would only pick up the standard 5 channels. Room was clean warm and well equipped.
Great location for shopping and central Leeds night life. Hotel could be used to return to for a 'rest' if needed.
No complaints and would use again.

I have stayed at this Hotel on 4 previous occasions ,in the past stays it has been a little hit and miss certainly with the standard of service provided.

This stay i thought the service level had climbed substancially from my previous visits , the reasons are as follows the staff seem to want to be helpful know and do not think its a chore to accommodate you as I have previously felt. There also seems to be a better level of understanding from the staff , I had booked 7 rooms and we were kept close together and treated well.

So overall i can only compliment the hotel on turning itself around and I am glad I gave it a second chance.

Stayed here with the family (on Marriott points) over a weekend in very early November '08. We had two rooms.

The hotel is very central and in a good location on a quiet square. An NCP car park is very close so, all in all, the ideal package. The hotel itself is fine. The rooms of good quality. The leisure club has an adequate pool, sauna, steam room and small spa bath (the latter when its working - it wasn't for us). The leisure club does get quite busy on a Friday evening when there are several families clearly starting weekends.

The gym is a strange and poky affair in a wide corridor alongside the pool. There is adequate kit which is reasonably maintained but not a lot of space. I guess its the reality of a city centre hotel.

The hotel is let down by the little things which staff training could rectify. Specifically, hotel management if you read this:

1. Check-in. After a 4 hour drive there was a reasonable queue for check-in (only two staff at what seemed a very busy time) not helped by the fact that when it came to my turn to check-in both receptionists decided to help one woman leaving me waiting even longer and fuming.

2. Concierge. A spot of re-training required. When there are two people waiting its polite to ask 'who is 1st' rather than make the wrong assumption. Oh, one more thing, please look interested.

3. Housekeeping. Several things. (i) Don't forget to check the tissue box (so you don't leave only two tissues available when guests arrive in the room); (ii) Please put the duvet on the bed correct way round - hint: the open end of the cover goes towards feet that way guests don't get exposed to the actual duvet in the middle of the night; and finally (iii) DO NOT go around knocking on doors saying 'housekeeping' at about 8:15am on a Saturday morning!!!!!!!!

I know it sounds petty but its the little things which make the difference. Yes - we would and probably will stay there again.

Good location only a minutes from station and right in heart of shops etc. Efficient and pleasant check in and a comfortable noise free and well equipped room with decent bathroom. Lots of guests were on some sort of group event on a Saturday night [college reunions, hen nights, wedding parties etc] which made for quite a buzzy atmosphere with a mix of ages. We ate 'in house' which was reasonable albeit unexciting food. However the waiters seemed unaturally agitated that some of us might leave without paying and asked us for our credit cards etc in advance of them serving any food. This came across as distinctly odd and momentarily offputting.

This was our 3rd stay in just over a year at the Leeds Marriott. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else for our base for shopping, eating and drinking. My partner got what we thought was a good deal of £110 per night for 2 nights including a 3-course meal on one night, larger excutive bedroom, entrance to the exec. lounge and breakfast. Everything either met or exceeded expectations... check very quick and friendly, car valet parked efficiently, the bedroom definately had the "wow" factor, huge room, huge bed, and larger than average seating area including a very comfie settee..... the only fly in the ointment was the Executive Lounge. We used it 4 times in 2 days, all different times. First impression was not good, used coffee cups, empty soft drinks bottles, biscuit wrappers, newspapers on all tables. A depleted selection of soft drinks, no ice, and no clean glasses. We went back a few hours later, and it hadn't been cleared. The Exec room was totally un-manned and very neglected looking. (Marriott should take a leaf out of Amsterdam Marriott's Exec Lounge book which is superb). Now I have my moan out of the way... the evening meal was great, the chef even came out and served our meal. Breakfast was plentiful and with lots of choices. We will definately stay at the Leeds Marriott again, but our expectations of the Exec Lounge are not very high.
