Leeds Marriott Hotel

We stayed in room 629 for one night last Friday, and were very impressed with the room, the location of the hotel and the friendly staff. The hotel is located in Leeds town centre which is why we booked it. We used the Q Car Park which is a 2 min walk just around the corner.
Our room was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfy and the only thing I can really criticise is the bathroom sink was quite old looking and had water stains, but it looked clean. Oh yes, and the shower head was far too low for anyone over 5' 8".
The breakfast buffet was great, everything you could want to satisfy a hangover (from a night out at Highlight - was Jongleurs). I would definitely book this hotel again.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor for less noise.

This was a great surprise. The hotel is located on a quiet pedestrian courtyard. The surrounding area is less refined but the hotel is centrally located.

The lobby is nice but perhaps unremarkable. The health club is great - huge pool, whirlpool, steam - above average for this type of hotel.

The room is the star. I believe we were upgraded to a king junior suite. It was very large room with a small sitting area and an entrance vestibule. Corner room, windows on 2 sides, very high ceilings. Standard sized bathroom but very nicely finished. One of the nicest non-suite rooms that I have stayed in. This room is worth the upcharge over a regular room.

The breakfast in the concierge lounge (included with our room) was fine but not memorable.

If you are driving, be sure to get detailed instructions. Our GPS got us to the hotel but only by driving through a bus/taxi only zone. The £50 ticket showed up a few weeks later.

I would stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Don't even think about - go for the junior king suite.

Dear PeterScott1

Thank you for the review

I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us in your upgraded room.

The junior Suites are nice and spacious and the Executive Lounge can be a haven in the evening to relax and although the breakfast is not the same as the Midtown Grill it offers a more relaxed environment to dine in.

The City loop can be a bit daunting to get around and I am sorry you got a ticket.

Despite the challenges getting here I do hope we can welcome you back to the Leeds Marriott in the near future.

Regards

Paul Collins

I was lucky enough to stay at the Leeds Marriott on Tuesday evening. What a brilliant hotel.
Concierge fantastic, Reception friendly and welcoming. Hotel room stunning lots of room warm temperature. Old fashioned hospitality which includes flannels, good quality toiletries. Amazing.
The restaurant was just the best. Dont hesitate put yourself in the 'mix' for shopping and culture.

Room Tip: go for the top floors just for the scenery if nothing else, but you wont have any problems if you go...

Splendid hotel, great facilities, located in city centre so ideal for a weekend break or a night on the town, close to railway station. It has it own restaurants and an Indian restaurant attached to hotel served a good selection & quality was superb, so would recommend & use again. Hotel has high standard of fittings, friendly & polite staff, comfortable clean rooms and well serviced, with a great buffet breakfast selection available which was well worth the value. Would stay again without hesitation and would highly recommend.

Short and sweet as I was just on a business trip but again the Marriott does not fail to impress for its consistency and service. Rooms were very comfortable, bar and restaurant cosy making it a very pleasant stop over. Restaurant is on the pricey side but with an offer that was running at the time of my stay it made it quite reasonable. If I was staying in Leeds for leisure then this would make a great location.

Really impressed with this hotel. Ultra friendly staff and very nice hotel. The staff cannot seem to do enough for you. Booked the champagne friday break and would also recomment the nearby Russell Eaton salon for a massage if that takes your fancy (10% discount for hotel customers).

The room was very very spacious and immaculate and the breafast was plentyful. The champagne was lush. Overall a top class hotel.

Room Tip: higher rooms have a slightly better view of the city.

This has to be one of the best hotels in central leeds ,it is so well situated being right on the main shopping area and surrounded by numerous bars and restaurants . The eateries at the hotel are a tad expensive when you consider any extras like fries etc cost quite a lot and therfore bump the cost up ,having said that the inclusive breakfasts are great with a huge selection for choice . The health club is a great addition to this hotel with a good size swimming pool steam room and sauna . The room we had was in a twin configuration with super comfy beds and the room was very well insulated from outside noise as well as noise from the corridor at one stage we thought we were the only ones on our floor .The standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel was very good .I can certainly recommend this hotel .The only downside to this hotel is the carparking you have to park in the NCP ( secure)which at 17.50 per day is a bit steep , i think Marriott should have an agreement with NCP and offer some sort of discount for guests !!.There are other cheaper carparks but certainly not as secure .

Room Tip: try to avoid a room on the end nearest the railway as i gather it can be a bit intrusive .
