We were in Leeds for our daughter's graduation and decided to visit the Royal Armouries. It was great and very interesting. We walked there from our hotel and it was a 15-20 minute walk from the train station and a lovely walk I might add. The Royal Armouries was way more that I expected. It had so much history of Englands conquests going back centuries and all the different armour they used through the centuries to the present time. I would highly recommend this for anyone of any age.

Excellent building and fascinating exhibits from all ages . Free admission and places for children to amuse themselves and sit if you are taking your own food. Easy to spend a few hours here and live demonstrations which are entertaining and well done

Ive been here twice, once with friends and once with family. the second time was a bit samey but i suppose its a museum and they have a set collection. The live demonstrations are well done and the collection is vast and very interesting spanning most areas of weaponry and history.
Worth a visit and best of all its FREE!

What a place! I know where to go when the zombies come... You couldn't pack any more weapons into this place if you tried.

There was a very interesting talk by a member of staff about the Field of the Cloth of Gold, we were told about his experience as a jouster (!) and given the chance to try on a couple of helms and wield a mace. It was completely free, too! Unbeatable, and fascinating stuff.

The collection of samurai armour on show was a little disappointing as that was what we had hoped to see most of, but there was still enough to keep us busy. It is a huge place, and if you're interested in the subject - definitely worth visiting more than once.
