My husband and I went to the Mansion for afternoon tea. The restaurant is decorated to a very high standard, i would describe it as an historic venue which has been beautifully refurbished with a modern twist.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea consisted of egg mayonnaise sandwiches with spring onion, chicken and pancetta with sage and salmon with cream cheese. I don't like salmon and asked the waiter for an alternative. This was no problem at all and he recommended prawn with avocado. The sandwiches were beautifully made and were very tasty.
The scones were warm and came with a vanilla cream and strawberry jam. There was also a lovely walnut cake and also fruit cake. It was priced at £18.95 and it was worth every penny.
I will definitely be going back to the Mansion very soon,
