“Nice bar”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

I like this end of town, quieter and more quality.Wines here are nice in an atmosphere where you can actually talk and enjoy a drink unlike a lot of city centre places where you are fighting the music.

“Ok, but nothing special”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

We went for a birthday meal and came away slightly disappointed to be honest.
It started off badly as we had requested the table be decorated for a surprise meal and this was all agreed by the staff. Not impressed to arrive and to find that nothing had been done and that we were crammed on to a tiny table in a corner, next to a rather raucous group. My husband went to speak to the staff and was rather flippantly told that the person who had arranged it had gone on holiday and not passed the message on - no real attempt to apologise.
Service was ok and the quality was varied, from excellent through to poor. The burger was delicious, really moist and tasty, with delicious thick-cut chips. The veggie option, the allotment pie, was bland and lacked seasoning- it was actually left by that person who ordered it. The steak and ale pie was also lacking in flavour.
The beers were the stars of the show, and the Midnight Bell Ale came highly recommended. I think it sums up the place for us really - we will return for a drink perhaps but will eat elsewhere.

“Really nice”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

I went here for a family Sunday lunch. I was really impressed to see that they had TWO vegan options on their menu, which meant I had a tough time choosing! Three people had a turkey roast which they said was nice, my vegan roast was excellent and included loads of mash, and my sister in law's sausage and mash was absolutely huge! She got three massive sausages and a mountain of mash and gravy. It was fantastic value and the staff were great. Beer selection was good too, mixture of local ales, international lagers, all sorts. Not giving it 5 stars as I didn't get what I ordered first time but they sorted it for me.

“Great Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

We visited with friends for a Sunday lunch get together, there were eight of us with kids too.

The service was great and the meals were delicious, everything was brought out together and the value for money was good too.

It's great to see a child (and dog!) friendly pub so close to the centre of Leeds. Would definitely pop back for another visit.
