Stayed on recommendation on Saturday and really pleased that I did. As a caffeine addict I was delighted to have the Nespresso machine, a first for me in a hotel, and the rooms were excellent - comfortable, classy, excellent bedding. Other reviewers have commented on the view ( or lack of) It's a city centre on a one night break - how much time do you spend looking at a view? Relax in the room. The team were friendly and knowledgeable but the key point was the food at dinner which was simply stunning. From the canapes presented on sitting to the desserts I could not fault. I have paid far more elsewhere for far less quality and presentation ( and quirkiness). Will definitely return.

Room Tip: splash out - book a suite on the third floor

The new Ellington is located just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Leeds. We were, unfortunately, a little underwhelmed. We paid £130 for a Superior room but we didn't get what we paid for. From having small tears in the bed linen, terrible view onto a yard, only having two coffee pods in the room, blinds that wouldn't close etc.
It's was nice but overpriced.

Room Tip: Stay at the Headingly Lodge. We stayed there the previous night for a third of the price and it was...

Got a last mintute booking on Late Rooms so it only cost £60.00 for the night which proved to be great value for money, nice clean chic rooms with all the conveniences you would expect flat screen tv on the wall, wifi, tea and coffee making facilities, safe, ironing board etc Just a short walk to the centre of Leeds, would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper I would ask for a room away from the street if possible as my partner...

Just come back from a two night stay. We upgraded to a suite which was very large, with a huge comfortable bed. However, on reading the reviews I realise now that we should have been supplied with bathrobes and slippers (we originally booked an Executive Room) but these were not supplied. It's a pity with two bathrooms in the suite, bathrobes would have been handy. The cooked breakfast was very good. However if you didn't have this and don't eat cereal, there was very little else to eat, only three Danish pastries on a plate the first morning (just one the second morning) there was very little fresh fruite just a few slices of water melon/melon and half a kiwi. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would certainly stay there again (and this time ask for bathrobes).

As a last minute treat i decided to book this hotel, got a great deal on it, good price for a city centre hotel. Located in a quiet back street 2 minutes walk to bars and shops and with good local (cheap) multi story parking the hotel is in an ideal location. The interior is fun and interesting, much better than the chain style of hotel, they have an excellent on site restuarant serving local produce and an impressive gin and cocktail bar. Our rooms was spacious and had some great little extras like robes, ipod connection, pecksniffs toiletries. The bed was huge... more than enough for 2! What makes this hotel extra special is the staff, its a long time since i came across such friendly, knowledgable staff who are prepared to go that extra mile. I cannot recommend this highly enough for a city centre break or for business use. I will certainly be back... very soon. Avoid the chains, this offers the small things that makes the big differences.

This is a terrific hotel in an excellent location in the heart of Leeds.

The quality of the rooms and the service is exceptional and I would find it difficult to pick faults.

When booking however,do be aware of what you are getting. I booked an 'executive' room which promised for example, 'bath robes'. However I believe the room I was in was a standard room. I was informed that room 103 was indeed an executive room, but having stayed there before, I am not sure. I called the hotel the day after my departure to enquire. They said I should have asked for the bath robes if they weren't there. Although the hotel is second to none, I can't help wondering if I had paid for an executive room but just had a standard one ?

Having ummed and ahhed over a variety of accom. in Leeds I`m so glad we picked this one.We stayed here for one night and did`nt want to go home.

From arrival to departure I struggle to find anything too find fault with. Warm welcome, lovely big room, fantastic bed and a breakfast to die for!

Nice touches included a carton of milk (in the fridge) and complimentary spring water (750 mls)

The chaps on reception were especially helpful with recommendations/ advice.

Room Tip: Our room (203) did look out into the canteen of the office opposite. So shut the blinds if thinking...
