“Excellent fish”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

This is a very good fish restaurant - we were here for lunch and we dined on crab cakes with sweet chilli jam, prawns with garlic and chilli, the pan fried halibut with mussels and clams and a whiskey horseradish sauce, smoked haddock served with a poached egg on top, and finished off with sticky toffee pudding, an apple tart served with clotted cream and a cheese board. washed down with a bottle of Laroache Chablis 2012 and a glass of their Shiraz with the cheese - all in all a great meal. Decoration is a bit austere but more than made up by the food! Will defiantly visit again next time I'm in Leeds.

“Enjoyed lunch”

Great place to eat. Nice selection of wines, and a good selection of food. Something to suit everyone. The waiting staff were very attentive, but not imposing, and service was to a high standard, friendly and inviting.
Definitely will eat here again. The Oysters wet fab!!

“Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

Went boxing day with a few friends and had a great time. Food was very good - Brown Crab for 2 was perfect for our main course. One of the guys avoided fish and had steak saying that was also very good.

Waiter serving us had clearly had too much fun xmas day, but he did look after us and managed to provide all we needed. Prices were not too bad and we would go again, although it was very quiet and I'm unsure if the experience would be the same in busy times. My son went with his partner the following day and did say they had to return one dish which was cold, but they replaced it pronto and he also left wih a positive view.

“Dire”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2013

Went to Loch Fyne in Leeds for a family lunch one Sunday in December, what a horrendous experience!

Our starters were pretty rank (soup had a really thick skin on it, like it had been sat around for twenty minutes), but the best was yet to come. Main meals took an hour to arrive, and when they did (only after we'd badgered the manager) they were either cold or burnt. Two members of our party sent their dishes back as they were so bad, I couldn't be bothered waiting another hour and so cut my losses. I suppose it's an achievement of sorts to serve food which is both burned and cold.

Also the place looked dirty and badly run - our waiter looked like he hadn't had a wash in a month, plates and cutlery were unclean and had to be changed, and the whole place smelled of burned food.

We ended up refusing to pay, which even then I felt like we'd been overchargedl! Overall pretty diabolical, especially considering the prices they charge.
