Why insist on a no bookings policy and an assurance over the telephone that it wouldn't be a problem for a table of two on a Sunday night as they were quiet. How do you know in advance if you don't take bookings?
Arrived and squeezed in to the small bar area. Menus arrived and 40 minutes later no sign of our orders being taken. Left at this point. Gino appeared and couldn't understand why we were going and said it wasnt his fault they were busy...pointed out that a booking policy would be good he said that they wouldn't do that as they would miss out on drop in trade.
Anyway went locally and had a good meal at the old white bear.
