Ashmount is a hidden gem. A spectacular aspect overlooking the Yorkshire moors is the first thing you notice alongside the beautifully cared for garden. We were warmly greeted by host Paul and the inside of the house was stunning with a fantastic tiled hallway and a cosy drawing room with a real fire. The rooms looked good on the website but were better in real life - they didn't feel like a hotel - it was like being in a wonderful luxury bedroom in someone's home. Everything was done tastefully and with elegance. The breakfasts were delicious! Homecooked and fresh. Eating in the drawing room overlooking the gardens was a pleasure. The hotel was a great location for Haworth high street so easy to walk out to a restaurant. And as if we couldn't ask for anymore, while we were there it snowed overnight so the atmosphere was magical.

The only tiny gripe would be that we could hear music and chat coming from other people's rooms but hey, it was Saturday night after all!

On arriving in Haworth we went a wander around the few shops on the main street. Not many of them but some lovely little old world shops. We had a nice pub lunch. We arrived at Ashmount House at 3pm and were greeted by Veronica and Paul who were the most welcoming hosts we have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

We were shown to our room (The Secret Garden Room) which was absolutely stunning and the hot tub was wonderful. We were made to feel completely at ease and nothing was too much trouble. Every aspect was carefully thought of from complimentary Sherry in or room to big fluffy towels and bath robes and even slippers and towels to use for the hot tub.

Evening meals in the hotel was not available and Paul recommended a restaurant which was one of his and Veronica’s favourites. This was the Wharenui on the main little street not far from the guest house and what a recommendation. There was a very relaxed environment with great staff and some of the best food me and my partner have ever eaten and it was so inexpensive.

On arriving back at the house we had a Gin and Tonic in the bar which is a very quaint idea there are no staff you get what you require write it in a book on the bar and they charge you at the end of your stay. They call this an honesty bar and we thought the idea was lovely. Very reasonable prices too.

Breakfast was as expected, local fresh food well cooked and presented.

Overall our stay would get a 10/10 and we will definitely be back for another visit later on in the year.

We dropped everything at short notice and escaped for a night. The whole evening and breakfast the following morning was fantastic.

We arrived and were told the hot tub in the sanctuary spa room wasn't working so we were upgraded to the secret garden spa room. Rooms are decorated very nicely, walk in power shower was amazing, hot tub was great!
We ordered food to the room which came promptly and was hot and tasty. Tray was removed from the door nice and quick too.

Overall a lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault it!

My husband and I have just spent the weekend here with the intention of getting away from it all and relaxing which is exactly what we got. The welcome we got on arrival was the best I have ever experienced, we were immediately made to feel comfortable and were given strict instructions to enjoy and relax. Our room was immaculate with a bed that was a dream. The extra bonus was the private hot tub outside - it rained most of the time we were there but once in the hot tub it didn't matter a jot. We had the champagne dinner on the Friday evening which was beautiful and there was plenty of it - we finished it for lunch on the Saturday. Breakfast was also excellent with the usual excellent service. All in all by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in and hope that we will be visiting again soon - definitely recommend!
