We stayed three nights at the Ashmount, in the Spa Sanctuary room, and thoroughly enjoyed every second.

Ray was a very welcoming and friendly host who ensured our every need was catered for. The staff were extremely helpful, courteous and very friendly; they could not have done more to make our stay more pleasureable.

The room and bathroom were spotless and beautifully furnished, the bed very comfortable (it's been years since I've woken as late as 8.30am) and the spa was a real treat - so relaxing and such fun!

Breakfast was perfectly cooked and impeccably served but best of all was afternoon tea -with or without champagne. It's a feast fit for a King, so much so that we had to request a 'doggie bag' the second time we ordered it - I highly recommend it.

It's only a short walk to some excellent eateries, we ate at The White Lion and Weavers; both very good indeed.

Such is the reputation of 'The Ashmount' that two friends asked us to tell them about it before we had even left home, we're sure they will enjoy it as much as we did.

Will we return? You bet we will!

Great 5 star hotel, lovely attention to detail in the rooms.Rooms v clean and spacious,we stayed in Amos Ingham room.Really comfy bed and sofa.Nice views of the moors from large bedroom window.Breakfast was lovely with more options then just a cooked breakfast, although my husbands full english looked very nice.Good hotel all round. If you want somewhere fantastic to eat the Old White Lion hotel is brilliant, about £25ish per head for 3 courses, some of the best food we have had in a long time.

Have just returned from a short stay at The Ashmount, What a fantastic place everything about it is just perfect! Ray and all his staff are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. We have just read some of the negative reviews and like another reviewer, we too are baffled by these comments! We can't wait to return!

Stayed at Ashmount for 3 nights in early August. Our room, Dr Inghams, was beautifully presented with large fluffy white towels on the bed with little chocolates on top!
The four-poster bed was marvellous and comfy and the addition of a sofa and easy chair was a nice touch of luxury in this quite large room. The view from the window over the Yorkshire countryside is spectacular, as is the vista over the hotel's gardens and we enjoyed watching the doves.
We arrived at Ashmount at 1.50pm, somewhat ahead of the published check-in time of 3pm, but that was no problem. Without asking if we could get in to our room, Gill met us in the car-park and straightaway checked us in and showed us to the room. Quite frankly, I am baffled by previous negative comments on this establishment. Our welcome could not have been better - friendly and efficient - what more do you need?
This was a lovely place to stay for a romantic break and we plan to return for more of the same!

Well, Ray and Gill have done it again! They will have to get an extension put on to this house as we have stopped in all the rooms that they have over the last three years that we have been staying here! Ray, Gill and all their staff are amazing! They are polite, friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for any of them! Having got back from three weeks in Cyprus, we felt we needed a mini break to ease ourselves back into life in the UK and as much as we love Cyprus, this lovely place takes some beating! We have come here for Birthdays, Anniversarys, Christmas....any excuse to come back! The breakfasts are excellent, especially the cooked, which will keep you going all day, although a walk up to Penistone and the Bronte Falls will soon walk it all off!
It is just the perfect place to chill out and the fact that the house was once the home of Charlotte Brontes physician adds to the history and mystique of Haworth as their home village.

We have stopped in many lovely hotels etc in many parts of the world over the years, but this is one place that we keep coming back to. Ray and Gill make you feel so welcome, almost family with one to one attention, and that you are more than a room number. They will take out time to have a natter with you, despite being very busy on most days! We haved booked for Christmas and I would rather be there than some swish, faceless 5star hotel in New York!! If The Ashmount is good enough for Robbie Coltrane and Cheri Lunghi to stay in, then it is good enough full stop!! Enjoy!!!!
