Very friendly café with excellent home-made scones. Their cream tea is the best I have tasted outside Cornwall.

We didn't try this venue for an evening meal, in the town there are just so many choices, but we did venture in there for a lunch time snack. First impression is how clean the place is, and second impression, how very friendly. The menu has real variety, and you can chose anything from the more regular and traditional fayre, to something perhaps a little different. I opted for mushrooms on toast, made beautifully with a cream sauce. So much I couldn't finish it. And they also brew a very fine pot of tea. Well worth a visit.

We chose this from the many cafes and pubs here as it was the most appealing to us for a light lunch. This bistro style cafe/restaurant was clean and fresh, the staff were attentive and helpful. The food was well presented and tasted great. The pot of tea for two was large and tasted just right though it was a shock that tea was £3.95 each so £7 for a large pot!!!

Many thanks for the positive feedback on our services, they are very much appreciated. I would like to take this opportunity of clearing up one point that you have made that is in fact incorrect. A pot of tea for 1 person is £2.50 and a large pot of tea for 2 people is actually £3.95, NOT £7 as you have suggested. I am sure that this is a simple misunderstanding and can assure you that we wouldn't be in business long if we were to charge such prices. I apologise for not responding sooner but am glad to have the chance of clearing up this point. Again, many thanks for all of the great things you said and we do hope that you will come back and see us again.

We went in here after visiting The Brontë Museum. We decided to share an afternoon tea. I explained to the waitress that I didn't eat meat and she said we could choose any sandwiches we wanted off the menu. When the food arrived the lovely lady who was in charge (the owner I assume) said that she'd added some extra sandwiches as we were sharing (there was no extra charge for this). The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, the service was fast and the café and toilets were spotless. Oh yes, the prices were very reasonable too. Highly recommended.
