The whole area, which includes the Bronte Bridge, Chair and Waterfall is well worth a visit. You can just imagine the swish of long skirts! Only down side is that it can get a bit busy.

“The Bronte Falls”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Or, as they were known before the Brontes - 'The Falls'. Not spectacular, but very picturesque. Don't expect falls of Niagara proportions, but it is mesmerising to see the course of the water making its way down to the Penistone hills, knowing that at least one of the Brontes would have seen this same feature on the landscape and been inspired to write, either consciously or otherwise, of events taking place against this backdrop.

Always a pleasure to walk this route, whatever the weather.
Make sure you always have good footwear and warm clothes!
Pretty spot.
Read up on the Bronte sisters first so that you can appreciate them walking in the wind and rain with the tiniest of shoes and not a Kagoul in sight!

“Bleak moorland attraction, peaceful & atmospheric”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Best time to go after it has rained which of course it does often on these eastern pennine slopes. The rushing stream cascading down to join main one near stone bridge is relentless & powerful. Good to take a photo opportunity on the bridge while you contemplate whether to try the extra 1.5 miles walk up to the Old Withins.
