We stayed for one night which was a friday, most hotels wouldn`t let us have a room for one night at the weekend but we had no trouble at all at the white lion, the rooms are usually around the ninety pound mark but they do deals and we got one for seventy five including full english breakfast! The room was nice and comfortable with a new en-suite but i have two small moans, one was a strange chemical smell in the room and the restaurant which was directly below us, maybe this was a temporary thing, i don`t know, the other moan was the lighting in the rooms, this was by way of down light spot lights which weren`t very relaxing, maybe some bedside reading lamps would be more suitable.
Haworth is a great place for a night out with good friendly pubs and good beer etc, we ate in the hotel and both the food and service were fantastic.
In the morning we were walking along the pennine way to hebden bridge for the night, a distance of eleven miles so we needed hot drinks for the day, a really kind lady on the reception desk had two flasks of tea made up for us free of charge, that`s good service!
The old white lion is a good hotel and restaurant with good beers etc set in a lovely traditional bar, very nice, i would definately go back, many thanks Steve and Denise.

Thankyou Steve & Denise for your kind review, you deserved the flasks for that long hike back to Hebden Bridge. We must apologise for the smell you mentioned this smell came from the fireplace we have just renovated in our Restaurant , we are in the middle of refurbing the Restaurant the first stage had been carried out the week you stayed with us the final stage will be this week with all new flooring , tables and chairs. The smell was only a temporary thing we are sincerely sorry for that. The lighting we will take your idea of the lamps on board, most of the lighting we have are on dimmer switches anyway which gives a nicer atmosphere .
Thank you once again and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Best wishes from
The Kind lady who made the tea and all the team 8)

We chose the Old White Lion in Haworth because it was the best place near to the village where our friend was holding her 50th birthday party. We also decided to make a weekend of it and visit the Bronte Parsonage museum. The hotel room rate is not cheap 'Travel Lodge' style but you certainly get what you pay for and I don't begrudge paying a good business that delivered what I had hoped for from our weekend stay.

All of the staff I met were helpful and friendly.

I booked the room on-line and it was almost exactly as described. The view across the Worth valley was indeed spectacular. The room was warm, comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom was almost new and very clean and bright.

Breakfast was very good and the choice quite excellent. The dining room was very traditional and provided a pleasant environment. We enjoyed dinner on Friday night, the quality of food and presentation was high. Waiting staff were all great. Retiring to the bar we found that equally welcoming with a fine range of ale and a very pleasant traditional environment. There were quite a few locals and that added to the enjoyment and atmosphere. On our next visit I think we would try the bar menu as it looked to have plenty of appetising choices.

The hotel is located at the top of Main Street, Howarth. The immediate surroundings are heritage quality stone buildings set in a beautiful cobbled street. Think 'Hovis' advert, really nice.

Overall a great stay and we would go back.

Parking in Howarth is very difficult but if you cannot get one of the Hotel spaces, the reception staff will provide a voucher allowing free parking at a car park some 100m from the hotel

Room Tip: I chose room 9 but I would imagine any room listed as overlooking the Worth valley would provide the...

Had 2 meals in the White Lion, best excellent value and quality. The waitress service on the first night was unfriendly, however much improved on the second night, dependent on who served you. Lovely pub, abit too warm in the bar, but food very good.

Room Tip: We didn't stay here but no option to mark N/A for sleep quality and rooms

We stayed here for a weekend in October and would love to go back. The bleakness and sheer beauty of this area is apparent on the journey across the landscape.
The hotel is cosy and the staff very friendly and helpful. Situated at the heart of the Bronte Village, it is an ideal spot to explore all things Bronte.

Lokking forward to returning next year for a week. You won't regret this choice of hotel.

Last minute booking using trip advisor to find the best hotel for Haworth, and boy was it nice. The hotel is situated at the top of the hill near the Bronte museum, the bar food in the evening was exceptional, both bars are very nice with the only fault that the bottom bar gets rather warm. The restaurant is rather nice and is where we sat to eat breakfast which is exceedingly nice with various choices to feed the veggie thro to the cholesterol carnivore. Food is well priced and like I said very good but drinks are rather over priced, but they seem to be over priced in the other bars and hotels in the area. Still worth it though.
