A truly beautiful restoration of the parsonage and presentation of the home as it was used by the Bronte family. I came away with a deeper knowledge and understanding of the lives and inspirations of the Bronte sisters. This was in every way a pilgrimage worth making

Such a lovely, interesting place to visit, whether you’re a fan of the Brontë’s work or not. You really feel as if you can get an idea of what their lives were like.

Hi Jane,

Thank you for taking the time to review our museum. We are very pleased that you got the sense of what it was like to live in the Parsonage, and Haworth, for the Brontës.

We hope to see you again in the future,

Many thanks,

Pete

This place does genius and melancholy in equal measures. Even if you have never read the books (you have missed out) no one could failed to be moved by the incredible atmosphere and sense of brooding that hangs in the house and surrounding churchyard and streets. Best visited on a cold windy winters day for full effect. The parsonage rooms are set out largely as they were in the brontes time, from the table at which Jane eyre and wuthering heights were written, to the sofa that Emily died on. It’s a must do literary shrine, best in the UK.

Practical points, there is a large car park next door, with plenty of room if you get there early. There was enough to entertain young children, my daughter was entranced. Neighbouring steep cobbled shopping street is worth a trip for the old fashioned sweet shop and good cafes (we visited the pottery shop cafe which does amazing homemade soup and cakes).

Hi there,

Thank you for your wonderful review, as well as for your sage advice to others! During half-terms and holidays we have 'Wild Wednesdays' where children are taught to do artsy crafts based on the Brontës or the specific holiday.

Please do visit again,

Many thanks,

Pete

The tiny people and their belongings had no concept of the large impression they would be leaving. The home tour gives you an idea of the secluded, yet detailed life would lead this family into a life of art. Wonderful tour and wonderful sense of daily life. I would do it again!
