“First but not the last”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

Last night (9/2/12) was our first visit to this restaurant, we hadn't booked, but fortunately it being a weekday were able to secure a table. It is obviously a very popular place to eat, we soon found out why. The service was excellent as was the food, in fact I can honestly say it was the BEST indian meal I have ever had, it was overall a good experience, while waiting for a table we were shown to the bar area, where there is a good selection of draught beers and very comfortable seating, the whole place was extremely busy and obviously catered to all tastes, this sadly led to my one gripe, nothing to do with the restaurant or staff, just the noise level from one area was so loud we almost had to shout to each other to be heard at times, other than that everything else was perfect. If going at the weekend judging by how busy it was in the week, I would recommend pre-booking definitely.

“Good restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

I’ve eaten here on a few occasions the food is always excellent, the staff are always lovely the last few times we’ve been served by the same pretty Asian girl, who’s friendly and you don’t feel rushed to leave, even when it’s busy. The only gripe is my eyes water due to “spicy air”, and it catches your breath and the fish tanks are mucky looking and rather bare.

“Middle of the road restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

Waiter was friendly and helpful , waitress was disinterested and blunt. The food was decent, a little lacking in flavour but very generous portions - a little too big, if that's at all possible! But a doggy bag was offered.

“Perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2013

We fancied a middle of the road priced curry without travelling too far.
Turned up without booking and they were able to accommodate a table for 2 after a short wait. There was a fairly priced bar in the reception area which had well kept beers on draught and comfy sofas to sit on.
Service was friendly and attentive. Food was perfect. I had the lamb biryani which was nicely spiced and came with a choice of curry sauces. The portion size was very generous. My better half had her usual chicken korma which was also received very well.
Would we return? Yep.

“As good as before - and will probably be just like that in the future.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

When we arrived at the 3 Singhs, the car park was pretty much full, as was the restaurant, but our table was ready for us. The waiter was good - he knew his stuff; wasn't fazed by my request for a hot plate; and not surprised when I asked for no coriander or garlic; and was able to answer all our questions about the extensive menu. The starters came pretty quickly, although there was no rush; he asked us if we'd like the main course straight after he'd cleared - we decided to wait for a few minutes. Meanwhile, the Station Chief [overseeing a few tables] came and introduced himself. That he knew us by name [probably checked with the booking] was a nice touch.
Isn't it good when everything is just right? And so it was last night. There are some restaurants who will make a drama out of a crisis at any opportunity - but not here.
My brother in law tried every curry we'd ordered and, like he'd enjoyed himself when last over, he was most enthusiastic about the food and service; as were we all. The cost for four of us having two courses each as well as alcohol [and the obligatory lassi for me] was about £72, which, although certainly not the cheapest in town, was excellent quality - and for that we expect to pay. We were too full for puddings and went home replete and happy.
