Just returned from a spur of the moment night away at the Holiday Inn, Tong. The room was comfortable with the biggest bed we have ever seen. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, from the receptionist on check-in through to the bar and restaurant staff. The breakfast was great, lots of choice of cereals, fruits and pastries as well as a full english. Have stayed before and this visit didn't disappoint.

We had the pleasure of celebrating our daughters christening at The Holiday Inn in Tong this weekend.

From the moment we decided to book the hotel for our christening celebration to the moment we left this afternoon it has been an absolute pleasure.

Anthony and the staff have been so attentive and took a very personal approach in the planning stages leading up to our special day. They have gone above and beyond their duties and I would highly recommend this venue to others.

I can't thank all the staff at The Holiday Inn enough for making our christening a very special occasion.

First impression was very positive. Hotel is well presented and staff were warm, welcoming and efficient. But this turned out to be one of the worst Holiday Inns I've stayed at. Room looked tired and desperately in need of redecoration. One light didn't work making it impossible to see anything in the wardrobe. Tap in bathroom wobbled, tiles were loose and there was bits of black mould round the bath. Nobody was on bar duty and when I eventually found someone, they had a problem with operating the cash register and charging to my room. On the second night several guests could not get in to their rooms as there was a fault with the key cards. Staff said this had been happening for some time. Every time I wanted to get in to my room I had to go to reception and ask for the door to be unlocked. Shame as this hotel has great potential.

Thank you for taking the time out to leave feedback for us, every contribution helps us to improve upon the service we deliver. I'm happy to hear that you found our staff warm and welcoming, this is of course our main priority, in ensuring that if you do have any issues that you feel welcome to come and inform us so that we can rectify them there and then. Unfortunately on the night you stayed with us we were having issues with a couple of locks on the second floor, we were unable to get a technician to look in to it until the following morning. Please accept our sincere apologies as of course, we understand the frustration with having to be manually let in to your room on each occasion. This issue was rectified the following morning. I am aware you have spoken with our Reception Manager who has spoken to you in more detail and I hope resolved your issues with you directly.

Thank you so much for all your help organising our Christmas Party. It was a great success and many many thanks to a fantastic Santa! The venue was very good, food great and the staff were very helpful on the night.

We were pleasantly surprised to be able to book a room on boxing night. A couple of days beforehand we received a call from them asking if we wanted to book a meal. We were told that the restaurant was open till 10pm and so as we were travelling up from portsmouth we said we would like to book. However on arrival we were told that the restaurant was closed and there was only a limited bar menu. Had we known we would have eaten on the way but were expecting a rather nice menu as it was christmas. We explained to the receptionist that we thought we had booked and when she checked the system she found that it was indeed noted. All I can say is that although there was no restaurant they provided us with a feast of sandwiches and fries with cheese and biscuits. We were disappointed tho with breakfast but this was more todo with a misunderstanding as to whether there was hot food. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We have stayed in several types of room and generally find them all good
