“Retreat by name and by nature”
Reviewed June 11, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We had found this place on Trip Advisor and wanted a quiet, peaceful and beautiful place to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The accommodation was great. An all encompassing building built next to the owners property, if you needed anything they were only a stones throw away. James met us shortly after we arrived and we had a good chat, with him offering great advice on various different places to go depending on what we were after. We changed our plans, visited Arundel Castle and Climping beach and so glad that we did as they were just what we wanted. Plenty of choice of local pubs, villages and with Arundel and Chichester just a few miles away, this has everything you could ask for. We also had a good chat with James when we said we were leaving and we will definitely look to go back and enjoy all over again!!!

“Chill time”
Reviewed June 10, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Despite the awful weather we had a lovely relaxing time. Lots of places to visit nearby. The accomadation was lovely just a shame the weather spoilt us being able to sit outside on an evening.

“Superb setting and quality - don't miss this one!”
Reviewed May 4, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Beautiful setting with well stocked fish pond, a wonderful garden surround and horses in view. A relaxing and private retreat. Great location for nearby attractions including Arundel and Chichester and plenty of other things to see and places to visit. High quality furnishings, great modern shower, everything you need...and more! Thank you James and Karen and we hope to come back soon!

“The most perfect quite get away”
Reviewed January 5, 2018 for a stay in December 2017

Couldn’t say 1 bad thing about this place.. we booked to stay for 2 nights over the new year and we loved it.. so much to do around us, we loved the little pubs and country lane drives.. we found a lovely place to eat called the white horse, stunning place inside and the food was amazing. As for the boat house retreat, it’s perfect looks bigger inside than I thought, comfy bed and had that cosy feel and look. James welcomed us with a bottle of proseco and a basket of treats which was something he didn’t have to do. We will defiantly be back maybe in the summer coming. Thanks again James.

“Relaxing Christmas Break”
Reviewed January 2, 2018 for a stay in December 2017

My husband and I stayed at the Boat House Retreat over the Christmas Period, we were looking for a relaxing quiet Christmas Break away from all the hustle and bustle and this is exactly what we got. The accommodation was excellent, location excellent and a huge thank you to James and Karen for the wonderful Christmas Treats that awaited us on our arrival. The accommodation had everything required and was very clean on arrival. I would highly recommend the Boat House Retreat.

“Such a peaceful place to stay, perfection!”
Reviewed October 23, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

The Boathouse Retreat was fabulous, superbly decorated and contained everything we needed. We met James, the owner, on arrival, who gave us all the relevant information. We were so pleased to find a welcome hamper, along with milk and juice in the fridge, and even fresh cut flowers in various corners of the Boathouse.
With fish in the pond close to the door, horses in the field across the way, birds and squirrels, the atmosphere all around was so calming and peaceful.
We visited various local places, Chichester and the harbour, Arundel with its castle, and particularly enjoyed Billy's Cafe on the Beach at Bracklesham Bay.
I am sure in the summer it must be idyllic, and hopefully, we will return to see this!
Thank you James and Karen for our brilliant stay, we will be spreading the word!
