We discovered the Fox and Hounds by accident, just passing by.
We stopped and thought we would just give it a try.
We sat in the restaurant part of the pub, which had plenty of space - and service was soon in attendance.
The menu was excellent, but not the cheapoest, but then you do not always want cheap.
We tried the fish , with a sweet and coffee.
Excellent.

Sevice was excellent and professional ............... we wil be passing that way again soon, and will not be passing by !!

We've recently had two family meals here, both were great. The scallops and chorizo starter were nice, the sole and fish and chips yummy, and puddings great, recommend the sticky toffee pudding with stem ginger ice cream. We had great service from the staff, very attentive and cheerful. Even the chocolates you get with the bill are scummy!! This now rates as one of my fave two pubs, the other being the Red Lion at Chalton up the road. We will be back!

We booked a late Sunday lunch hoping that the mid-day rush would be over but at 3pm the place was buzzing and service slow. Our drinks took too long to arrive as did out food order, but don't blame the waiting staff as they were doing all they could to cope with the demands on them. We all selected the carvery but it was not very hot and the roast potatoes had been out so long that they had gone dry inside and hard outside. The choice of green vegetable was limited to just peas so the plate looked a bit anaemic. Puddings were much better but the portions were a tad small, especially the thimbleful of thin custard served with the bread and butter pudding.
Why is it that parents seem to think that is is OK to allow their offspring to run around the restaurant and jump up and down on the glass cover to the well? Carrying our food from the carvery to the table was a challenge for fear of these children colliding with one of us and food being toppled everywhere!
I would have liked the opportunity to raise our issues with the staff but we had to wait so long to settle our bill we left as soon as we could. I doubt if we will return on a Sunday again.

A large party of us ate dinner here in the function room. It was a wonderful experience. The room was nicely decorated and we were served good quality tasty by a lovely pleasant waitress. The staff in general were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was reasonably priced.

Easter Monday and not booked we thought we would have to wait until 4pm to have lunch we were lucky to have a good waitress who moved a reserved table to accommodate 5 of us and a dog. The menu was plentiful and when asked for a Gluten Free menu I was equally delighted. The food was delicious next time i would book. Well worth a visit we will return.
