“The perfect English country cottage and garden”
Reviewed July 2, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Wonderful place!
Stayed here 3 nights for family wedding but now wish we had booked for much longer!
A cottage full of atmosphere and history, sympathetically restored to a comfortable family home.
Every mod con you could wish for. Excellent kitchen very well stocked with cooking utensils, ovenware etc.
Beds very comfortable with duck down quilts and pillows. Plenty of wardrobe space. Thick fluffy towels.
The welcome gift was a surprise! Fresh milk and tea bags, local fresh apple juice, sparkling water and shortbread biscuits. How thoughtful.
If you have ever imagined the perfect cottage garden, then this is it. Fresh raspberries, blackcurrants, cherry tree, apple tree, tomatoes, peppers, ,onions, and as importantly, the most beautiful array of flowers. All this over looking a field of vines.

We will definately be returning to Crockfords but next time for a much longer stay.
Thank you Susan and David for the use of your lovely home.

“The nicest cottage we have stayed in.”
Reviewed October 23, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Crockfords is a beautiful cottage with lovely gardens. It was warm and very comfortable with everything we could have needed being provided. There are lovely walks straight from the house, lots to see and do in the area and a dog friendly pub just 200 yards away. We strolled round to the Tinwood Vineyards and couldn't resist buying some of the sparkling wines made from the grapes grown just the other side of Crockfords garden wall. Perfect for dog owners like ourselves with the garden being completely secure and also for families with young children. The road is quite busy but we were able to do a 5 point turn in the driveway with a large SUV and therefore drive in and out easily.
We would certainly like to visit again.

“Comfortable place”
Reviewed September 18, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Facilities are good. Well appointed house. Comfortable for 6. Having blankets available to substitute for heavy duvets would make sleeping more comfortable on hot nights. It is very close to an exceedingly busy road, thus noise in the bedrooms is inevitable if the windows are open.
Garden is a joy for sitting and dining. It is quiet and private.

Thank you for taking the tome to write a review. The cottage is on an A road as indicated on the website. However all
roadside windows are triple
glazed. In two of the bedrooms the windows can be opened onto the back of the cottage which considerably reduces traffic noise. It is appreciated that this issue can be clarified for future guests.

“Wonderful Garden”
Reviewed July 7, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The house is well situated with a pub within walking distance. It's a lovely home, with good quality furnishings and every bit of equipment you could possibly need. I'd imagine it would be very cosy in the winter with the wood burners. The garden though was our favourite spot. It was a gorgeous July week and we took advantage of the amazing and very English garden. A sun trap with only vineyards to interrupt the view. A very pretty village, the property is dog friendly, a stunning house in a super part of the country.

“Superb holiday home.”
Reviewed September 12, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Our expectations were high but we were not disappointed. The cottage is highly finished and no detail was left undone. The kitchen is very well equipped and the welcome pack is a very sweet gesture. My son loved the garden and we all enjoyed having breakfast there. As we come from Malta we wanted to see a big radius of the area. We used the cottage as our base and visited Brighton, Portsmouth, Arundell, Chichester and the harbour, Bognor Regis, Thorpe Park and Chessington Park. It's an excellent holiday home and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

“One of the best holiday homes we have stayed in!”
Reviewed August 16, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Four of us (and a dog) stayed here for a week in August 2015. The title of our review tells you everything you need to know. Crockfords was tastefully decorated and immaculately presented. The kitchen was well appointed and contained every utensil you could wish for, which does not happen at most holiday cottages we've stayed in. To cut a long story short, we could easily have moved in permanently! The garden has not been forgotten either. It has been landscaped and planted in a very stylish way and was a pleasure to sit in and watch the passing Spitfires!
