“Wonderland.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

I love visiting the Cass Foundation - every trip feels like an adventure. The sheer scale of the work on display is magnificent, teamed with the stunning views over the downs. The visitor centre is great - lots of books etc. Definitely worth a visit in any season.

“If the weather is fine, brilliant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

We went on a super sunny day. Our planned 2 hour visit stretched to 4: it is big uncrowded forested site not wholly wheelchair accessible. It is hard to find! Not too expensive with the Art Fund discount. Unusually no on-site cafe, probably too few visitors to support one: there is instant coffee, very low price, very poor value.
The scores of artworks vary in size from big to enormous and in style from shiny to creepy (the crowd of life size figures massed amongst the trees, a decaying army with neither arms nor armaments). The exhibits supposedly change as they are sold though I don't know who could find a home for "alpha" a simple tubular steel structure some tens of metres high.

“Wow! What an amazing place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

This is a 26 acre wooded site that contains over 80 sculptures by emerging and established artists. The Cass Sculpture Foundation is a not for profit organisation and can be found, with difficulty, near Goodwood House. There are few signs to guide you and even their web site says the given post code will send your sat nav to their back door. I understand this is not through lack of trying on the foundation's part but more the local councils reluctance to erect more signs !!!!
We took over two hours to stroll through the woods to view the sculptures. There was a picnic area half way round, lots of tables, many with trees growing through them as they were also an exhibit! There were toilets here too.
The paths were well signposted through the woods and were made of wood chips, not so easy for buggies or wheelchairs in my opinion
There is no cafe or tea room here although you can buy a packet of biscuits , soft drink or coffee, so best to bring your own food and sit amongst the trees . Bliss
There were even soap sculptures in the toilets, there to be used and worn away by massaging hands.

“Art on a grand scale”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

This is my second visit - the sense of peace and tranquillity is ust wonderful and the art works, set against the backdrop of a forest and the ever changing sky is just magnificent.

“Perfect for family outing day”

The park is big enough for keeping you interest for the whole day. New sculpture get in during the year so its not the same everytime. Nice time away from the city and have a picnic in the sun...
