“Eight happy Swedish OAPs!”

Not the easiest group to please but they loved it all. The fruit platter for breakfast was much appreciated and a good varied menu in the evening. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we were impressed by the good showers! Only drawback was that a few of the bathrooms were ill-lit. I have already recommended it to friends in England and will certainly book again on future trips.

My wife and i had to stay overnight in the area. Nice quiet warm room, compact. Great breakfast. My wife was particularly impressed by the extensive 'Gin' menu, whilst I stuck to an excellent real ale. The location is great for a stroll in this ancient Roman town, with lots to see.

This is my default setting for lunch while shopping in Chichester; it's invariably pleasant and friendly, although not always the cheapest option. The courtyard garden is nice enough but, on a recent visit on one of the hottest days of the year, it was a pity that only two tables were sheltered by umbrellas, leaving all the others in full sun; luckily the conservatory area wasn't too warm (it can be like a greenhouse in hot weather) so it was possible to sit inside without being lightly cooked! My only disappointment was the "ploughman's lunch" - cheese with toast and a dressed salad is pleasant enough but it's blatantly not a ploughman's, and wasn't particularly good value at £7.50 either.

This pub accommodation was really simple and clean. The location in Chichester is great, close to the centre of town, university and hospital. The only downside is, obviously being at the back of the pub, it can be a little noisy on the weekends. During the week however it was quiet. The included breakfast is also good. I would definitely stay here again.

I've eaten here several times and stopped off for drinks. The atmosphere is always relaxed, the staff attentive and the food of good quality. The courtyard garden is great when the weather is fine, and it's a good place to go with a dog.

If you want a town-centre stay, close to Chichester Theatre and all the shops, this is a great spot. Small but clean and fresh rooms, decent shower and modern bathroom. Super beds and quality bedding in the old converted stable block. The staff are charming and the pub does excllent food. Great breakfasts: with everything from fresh fruit platters to a well cooked full Englsih all included.

The conversion for the rooms has been really well done and is in keeping with the building. As mentioned previously they close the patio at a reasonable time so you are not disturbed by the pub's customers. The twin room we had was very comfortable and well laid out if a little small, but for the price we were more than happy. The pub seemed to have a good dinner menu and was fully booked which is usually a good sign. We decided to eat out as were only there one night so wanted to explore a bit. The breakfast was probably the best I have ever eaten, beautifully cooked, locally sourced and piping hot. My friend chose the fruit platter which was presented really well and had a wide range of fruits. Unfortunately a dying hover fly had got into the fruit and suddenly crawled out at the table ! When we mentioned it though the plate was whisked away and a completely new one prepared quickly for us.
All the staff were friendly and polite and I would definitely recommend.
