I used to spend an awful lot of time inside these gardens, they felt more homely before the refurbishment to me but look far more attractive since. I go there to relax and unwind sometimes and t's a great place to sit alone and read or watch the world go by.

These gardens are a perfect haven in the middle of the city, filled with colourful flowers and buzzing bees, with glimpses of the cathedral and other handsome old buildings between the trees. It's always beautifully peaceful, as the old Roman walls which surround the gardens cut out the noise of the busy ring road directly outside.

The plants are always well-maintained, with an ever-changing range of colours and shapes. The only (very minor) disappointment on my most recent visit was that the fountain in the middle of the gardens wasn't running and was just a dry bowl, but I'm sure they'll get it fixed and running again soon.

These are tucked away, a short signposted walk from the Cathderal. They are beautiful gardens, especially on a warm sunny day, plenty of benches and shady trees to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Perfect quiet spot for a picnic in busy Chichester.

This is a little gem, that not many know about and selfishly I hope it remains that way..despite me reviewing! Set in the middle of Chichester behind the Cathedral, a beautiful garden of flora and forna and a pond! Benches are available, but there is plenty of green space for a picnic rug! Some of the locals pop there in their lunch break, my brother had his wedding pics taken there, and a few just sit, enjoy and contemplate life! Rarely have I seen more than a handful of people there. Great for an open air cuppa with a friend or to sit peacefully away from it all. Bliss

A quiet, beautiful space to sit and watch the world go by. Whether you are looking for a place to sit and eat your lunch or want to contemplate the flowers and trees half an hour sitting in Bishops Palace Gardens will brighten your day and recharge your energy levels.
