“Shhhhhh....peace and tranquility”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This is a little gem, that not many know about and selfishly I hope it remains that way..despite me reviewing! Set in the middle of Chichester behind the Cathedral, a beautiful garden of flora and forna and a pond! Benches are available, but there is plenty of green space for a picnic rug! Some of the locals pop there in their lunch break, my brother had his wedding pics taken there, and a few just sit, enjoy and contemplate life! Rarely have I seen more than a handful of people there. Great for an open air cuppa with a friend or to sit peacefully away from it all. Bliss

A quiet, beautiful space to sit and watch the world go by. Whether you are looking for a place to sit and eat your lunch or want to contemplate the flowers and trees half an hour sitting in Bishops Palace Gardens will brighten your day and recharge your energy levels.

Beautiful gardens with a Roman wall and Bastion too. The view of the cathedral is fabulous from the gardens.

Gardens are much improved due to the dedication of the gardeners. A much more pleasant place to walk now or sit quietly and enjoy a picnic. Easy access from Cathedral.

“A Great Place to Relax”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

Over the years we have enjoyed the Bishop’s Palace Gardens on many occasions and watched them develop. Yesterday we were attending an evening event in the City and there is no better place than the Gardens to relax, have a picnic and benefit from the sunny summer weather. Whilst some parts have suffered with the lack of water the whole garden looks in remarkably good heart and the herbaceous borders are breathtaking. The general standard is excellent and even on a busy day it is a delight to get away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby main streets and enjoy one of the many seats. The site is leased from the Church by Chichester District Council and it is a credit to their staff.
