We enjoyed a fabulous holiday at Pitlands Barn Granary with 2 other couples with our MX5 cars. The accommodation was first rate and with underfloor heating and lovely en-suites a truly luxurious self-catering break. There was a bottle of wine and delicious homemade cake on arrival and the family ensured that all our needs were catered for including the hose for car cleaning.
There are lovely views and we were lucky to see a herd of wild deer in the adjacent field one evening. The location is quiet and peaceful with 2 pubs nearby. All in all could not be faulted.

“WOW!!”
Reviewed May 30, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This accomodation is beautiful and suited our needs, my elderly parents had the bedroom with the shower room, to find 3 ensuites and 3 TV in bedrooms is quite unique so after a long day together we could all split up or share the cosy living area which was perfect. The long journey from Yorkshire was well worth it. The owners are very helpful and the cake and flowers were a lovely touch. The local pubs are fantastic all with good food and they catered for our little dog so she was able to join us. The wildlife is suberb and we caught a sight of deer running across the field early evening and fields of blue bells. I would certainly recommend to anyone to book this accomodation.

“Surpassed all expectations - a truly amazing place to stay.”
Reviewed March 23, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Extended family weekend rental of both the Granary and the Stables - which easily accomodated our group of 12 adults and 2 children. FANTASTIC !
Onsite owners very friendly and very accomodating - the children even helped to feed their chickens. The accomodation was superb - excellent quality conversions, would love to live there full time!
Great balance of traditional Sussex buildings and modern hi-tech living - and although we luckily enjoyed excellent Spring weather we are certain that we would have been just as happy if we were rained in!
Overall Pitlands surpassed all our expectations - a truly amazing place to stay.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

“Quality barn conversion in idyllic setting”

The Granary is a stunning, spacious barn conversion on a working farm in a glorious part of West Sussex, equipped with everything you could wish for and all finished to a very hight standard. Although arranged around the old farmyard with a couple of other conversions and the extended family's own dwellings, it did not feel as though we were overlooked or part of a 'development'. A very warm welcome was received from the owners, who were most helpful: we had no major problems, but when we discovered that some torches were missing they were replaced within a couple of hours. A fabulous place to stay if you value traditional rural England and want some peace and quiet. The narrow lanes can be a little alarming if not used to them, but the barn was very easy to find, and although quite remote it is not far (about 10 minutes drive) to a good farm shop, with Chichester and Portsmouth both within half an hour's drive. It is well worth taking a walk over the hill behind the Granary, following the path from the farm, leading to the small village of Stoughton. The pub looks inviting, though we were not able to try it, and there is a delightful old church with possible Saxon origins. We would definitely return here if visiting the area.
