We had read positive reviews before visiting the PIzza and Pasta Pub so we were looking forward to a nice experience. We ordered a starter and pizza. There was a limited choice of vegetarian starters but I chose the mushroom bruschetta which was quite tasty. The pizzas were on a very thin crispy crust which was OK but there was hardly any topping on them. I could not see or taste any cheese on the florentina pizza and the tastiest bit was the free range egg. Both of the pizzas were not very hot so may have been sitting around for a while. The older waitress was lovely - very chatty and cheerful and we could not fault her service. Unfortunately a table of around five adults with a young girl around eight years then came into the restaurant area and sat adjacent to our table. The child virtually cried the whole time complaining that she did not like the food until the parents gave in for a quiet life and ordered her another main course. I appreciate that the staff are not responsible for badly behaved children but instead of staying for a coffee we decided to call it a night. I do not agree with previous reviews that the food was value for money. On the contrary I thought the pizza was very poor quality and for the meagre amount of topping was way over priced. Maybe the pasta was better value but we didn't try that.It is a real pity that our experience was not great because had it been we would probably have returned. The main bar area was very welcoming with a nice fire in the grate, but we were sitting in the restaurant area next to the entrance for the toilets and it was a wee bit chilly as the toilet area was not very warm and so you got a cool draught every time anybody entered or left the toilets.
