Visited on a Friday lunchtime. Restaurant was quite busy but maybe because everyone had a "buy one main course and get one free" voucher as we did! Still expensive for what you get. We had two main courses - fish stew which was nice (should be at £13.95) and beef stew which was reasonable, but a small portion served with two large slices of tasteless grilled polenta(£12.95). We ordered one side dish of tomato and onion but it was only enough for one person. Barely one tomato sliced thinly and a small amount of red onion on top for £3.95! And it was over salted, as another reviewer mentioned. Not quite the treat we were anticipating. Wouldn't rush back! I must add, though, that the service we received was great. Our waitress (Steph) was very attentive and informative.
I gave only one star for "romance" as the tables are crammed together so no privacy!

Visited this restaurant with all my family, the staff were attentive and friendly even though it was rather busy. Overall the restaurant had a good atmosphere. The food was tasty but too much salt had been added, even the bread that came with the soup was coated in salt.

A dozen of us went out for a birthday meal, and despite the restaurant being pretty busy service was good. My food was absolutely lovely (seafood linguine and tiramisu), but other choices were less impressive. The 2 for 1 vouchers you can pick up are valid at the weekend, which is unusual and made it pretty good value.
My top tip would be to request a table which isn't in the direct line of the door, because it was a bit cold and breezy every time it opened.

We went on a Saturday evening when the restaurant was not particularly busy but found the staff inattentive and inaccurate (wrong wine brought twice). The brushcetta starter was poor and very poorly presented, a thin slice of bread with the tomato topping dumped at one end and some rocket leaves at the other. Main courses of beef stew and fish (shellfish) stew were O.K. but no more than O.K. My wife's crepe was rubbery. We won't be going back.
