We dined at The Fish House on Christmas Eve. The food, in terms of presentation and taste was fabulous. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Chef Austin Gosling and his team present innovative menu items in a way that I can only dream of. Each course was a 'wow'.

It was really great to be able to read a paragraph about each cheese on offer before making a selection. More restaurants should follow this example.

The restaurant is several miles North of Chichester 'in the middle of nowhere'. But it is certainly worth the drive and, of course, you can stay the night and sample wine from an excellent list. Most wines are sensibly priced but there are some that are way out of the normal pocket!.

Congratulations to the whole team for an excellent dining experience.

I have to say that I was always pleased with a meal under the previous incarnation of this establishment but The Fish House far surpasses for quality of food and wine. Imaginative menu and presentation and an ideal place for a celebration

This place has the skids under it. It is in administration, so it is said. The floor of the bar is disgusting - black and filthy. The portions are tiny and expensive, the drinks ferociously overpriced. The turnover of staff is at record levels, and no surprise. The head honcho takes himself off to buy the pub booze God knows where, leaving a small arrogant individual in charge who has a take-it-or leave-it attitude. This used to be a pleasant country pub but is now a pretentious pseudo-French 'restaurant' with French ponciness but no French flair or quality. It will probably be sold and converted into flats, and a good thing too! Save your money- there's a good chippy in Chichester where they do a mean haddock-and-chips.

We visited the Fish House for Sunday Lunch. The place was half empty, but at the back we noted a big group being served. In hindsight we should have left at that very moment. In short, we were just about ignored; we were provided with water, but no glasses; food portions were minuscule for the price charged; the starter menu promised organic salmon and crab on potato cream; however we were presented with a lump of mashed potatoes with a tiny 'tube shaped' roll of unrecognizable mashed fish; desert came without home baked biscuits as promised on the menu - when we queried this we were simply told they ran out of biscuits - no apologies. We noted that other diners were served a sweet lemon tart without summer fruits also promised on the menu. We were then presented with an incorrect bill, twice! Again no apologies when we brought this to their attention. Truly appalling!!! Diners, be warned.
