Description: Amelie and Friends is an independent restaurant situated in a handsome Georgian building right in the centre of Chichester (where Arthur Purchase & Son and The Dining Room used to be). We are close to the Festival Theatre and the St Cyriacs and Northgate car parks. The stylish interior combines Georgian high ceilings and period features with modern building materials and designer furniture. Come and bask in our large secluded courtyard garden planted with olive trees and mediterranean herbs. All our food is prepared in our own kitchen from fresh ingredients, and the menu features a mix of classics done very well plus some quirky and more adventurous dishes. Our delicious handmade wine is sourced from small organic producers from around the world. Our friendly and knowledgeable front of house team will look after you extremely well.

Very enjoyable evening with a big group of us and joy oh joy it was so organised that we each received our own bills with no problem at all saving all the end of meal totting up...well done for that brilliant !
Very tasty meal, I enjoyed a delicious fish pie, a vegetable would have been good but that had to be ordered separately I discovered. We all enjoyed our meals but of special note was the friendliness and attitude of the staff, really lovely. I look forward to a snack in the courtyard when the sun comes out.

“Enjoyable dining experience”

Had a very good meal at Amelie and Friends on Saturday evening with a group of six. We all enjoyed our choices from the menu. The food was well cooked and the service was excellent, Charming young waitress who attended to all our needs. We all enjoyed our starter choices which included the fishcakes with poached eggs and sauce, pea and mint risotto and chicken liver pate.
Mains choices included confit duck, fabulous sea bream and cottage pie.
The atmosphere was very buzzy and enjoyable and we would certainly return.

“Lovely place”

This busy restaurant is a firm favourite. We live nearby and have had lunch here several times. The food is always beautifully cooked with local ingredients. Great atmosphere and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. I came here with some girl friends for a wine tasting evening which we all thoroughly enjoyed, its was fun and laid back, great food and excellent wines. Great value.

Thank you very much for your brilliant review. One of the great pleasures of owning a restaurant is getting to learn more about wines. It has been no hardship to have had to select our list of hand-made organic wines!

“Lovely food and surroundings with excellent service.”

My friend and I enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here. We couldn't fault the food, atmosphere or service and it was great value at £15 per head for 2 courses with a glass of wine. I have already re-booked for May when I am visiting Chichester to see a play at the Minerva theatre.
