Swanbourne Lodge is a beautiful and unusual little place 'hidden away' near the end of Mill Road in Arundel and overlooking Swanbourne Lake.
A number of tables inside, seating outside plus a more formal dining area (perhaps for pre-booked groups?).
The menu is varied from wonderful cooked breakfasts, lunches, snacks to amazing cream teas - all 'home made'.
Also on show and for sale is a lovely display of scenic Arundel paintings, certainly in oils, if nothing else - by most probably a local artist.
A favourite for cycling groups, walkers and all visitors 'just passing'.
Parking is available and free.
Walkers are asked to remove boots before entering.
This Lodge marks a spot for walking within the Arundel Castle Estate so is a good start or finish point.
Customer toilets are very acceptable but up a short staircase.
I have visited here a number of times and am never disappointed.
Public toilets are also available in a separate building but are not free.
