First visit to this restaurant last evening and will definitely come again.
There were four of us in our party and we all really enjoyed our meals. The blade of beef and the chips were highlights.
The service was excellent, even though there was only one girl looking after the restaurant. She was welcoming, friendly and efficient.
Surprised it wasn't more busy on a Saturday, especially as we also thought the pricing was good value.
Only minor complaints; we did think the room was too bright and would have better 'atmosphere' with less lighting. Also, a little background music would have been good.
However, overall, very pleased to have found a good local restaurant.

A good location for the purpose of our evening out at The Jailhouse. Staff were helpful and the shower is GREAT!
As with any old building, the floorboards creak, which can be annoying if you are trying to get off to sleep when the people above have just got in. As it is on the high street, if you have the window open there will be noise, but this is an historic town so we are not talking a major roadway.
Room facilities and the little extras, such as being able to choose a DVD at no extra charge, are lovely. The bed we had was very comfortable and we left very full after our breakfast.

A wonderful boutique style hotel right in the centre of Arundel which I would thoroughly recommend
I booked an overnight deal with room , breakfast and a 3 course evening meal. The service was excellent, personal without being intrusive, helpful information about how to manage parking, and very professional. We felt very spoilt!
It was a birthday treat and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and prepared and served beautifully. The resturant is small and intimate which suited us perfectly. There was a good choice of wine and we were ale to sit and watch the world go by comfortably and without any feeling of being rushed through.

Came to this lovely town for the yearly festival, to a not so lovely 'establishment'. Room was dirty, empty restaurant, (no surprise)!!!! No nice soaps and shower caps etc. We will never spend our money here again!

We stayed for 2 nights during the wonderful Arundel Festival week. This was our second stay and this year there was the added bonus of the reopened restaurant. We cannot fault either the accommodation or the restaurant which are well run by the charming and helpful staff. Our room was at the top of the house which is a Georgian townhouse with five bedrooms. Decor is contemporary and nicely done with a well fitted ensuite to each room.
We'd booked the 2 night offer with 3 course dinner one evening for a very reasonable £270. The meal was excellent with a good choice of locally sourced ingredients served in the pleasant restaurant. Breakfast was equally good with a choice of main courses. The only slight criticism - perhaps a smoked salmon dish or kippers could be added to the menu.
We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
