We stayed on impulse after returning from abroad - and are we glad we did! Beata and her team are friendly, fun and extremely efficient. This is a really great English pub - warm fires, good beers, welcoming staff...and the food was absolutely magnificent, both dinner and breakfast. The rooms have been recently decorated and are well appointed - ours was a little small, but nonetheless very pleasant. Having enjoyed this visit immensely, we would definitely return and will make a point of trying other Fuller's pubs with rooms. The Swan exceeded our expectations.

Room Tip: I'd choose an executive double next time - they were booked up when we stayed - as they looked t...

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments on your stay with us here on TripAdvisor. I'm delighted to hear you had a good stay with in Arundel and enjoyed all we had to offer. I'm glad you agree that, while a little on the cosy side, our Standard Rooms offer a great value option for those grabbing a quick break away from home.

Fullers have some fantastic other "Inns" around London and the South which I truly hope you'll try out, but if you ever find yourself down in Arundel again, please keep us in mind :)

Best regards,

Dear Paul,

I'm glad to hear you had a good time with us at The Swan. We're all particularly proud of our breakfast, being that it *is* the most important meal of the day, so I'm glad you thoroughly enjoyed it!

We look forward to welcoming you again soon back to Arundel.

We stayed at the Swan Hotel on 25th January for one night. After a long drive we received a warm welcome from the staff on check-in who showed us to our room and went through the formalities. The room was clean, comfortable and warm which was just what we needed on a cold and rainy evening. An excellent range of toiletries were available in the bathroom and the complimentary bathrobes were a nice touch.
On booking the hotel we noticed that they were holding a Burns Night Supper in the Restaurant so we decided to reserve a table to try something different. As we had not been to a Burns Night celebration before we were sure what to expect but we were not disappointed as we had a great evening. The food and service was superb. We enjoyed some traditional Scottish dishes such as haggis and cullen skink. Everything was yummy. They also has a bagpiper and some poetry reading. Not our normal sort of entertainment but it was fun and all added to the experience.
Breakfast the next day was also great. There was a really impressive choice of hot dishes to choose from. We felt spoilt for choice.
All in all a really good stay. No complaints at all. Will recommend to others and will definitely return in the future.

Dear Caroline,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at The Swan. I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed our Burns' Night Supper - it's one of the more unusual events we host through the year, but this year was certainly the best we've done so far! I hope it added some fun memories to your time in Arundel, and we look forward to welcoming you again soon!

Had to stay in Arundel at short notice due to work ( and weather) . Found a room at The Swan and was delighted to have stumbled across it. Only stayed for one night but used the restaurant, which was very good, and breakfast was first class the following morning. The rooms were comfy and cosy, and I'm very tempted to return on the near future for a more leisurely break. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed here for the weekend - 18/19th January and were more than pleasantly surprised. OK it doesn't have fancy pools and saunas but we were made to feel very welcome from setting foot inside the Hotel door. Our room was on the first floor and although it was small there was enough room for the weekend traveller for sure. The shower was good and toiletries plentiful, it was also good to step out of the shower and be wrapped by big towels and robes rather that towels that don't hide the blushes!! The radiator was only half warm but it's an old building and holds the heat well so even on the coldest weekend when everything was covered in snow the room was still warm. I do agree that some kind of extraction should be used in the bathroom or all that redecoration will be for nothing when everything is covered in mould. The breakfast was plentiful and hearty with a good choice. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday night and it was really lovely and even though it was quite busy the attention to detail was good and reasonably priced for such good food. We intend to return to the area to do more walking in the summer months and would definately stay there again and would recomend this lovely hotel to friends and family.

Dear Emma,

I'm delighted to hear you had a good time with us during your recent stay in Arundel. We really do try and offer something a little bit special for a "pub with rooms", so I'm pleased you had a good stay. My apologies about the heating - it's been an especially long winter that's revealed some flaws in our slightly antique system, but we are in the process of fitting pumps that should sort out the problem for the future.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Swan in the near future (when the weather warms up!!)

We were married on 21.12.12 at the Town Hall in Arundel. We booked out most of the rooms at The Swan for our guests, many staying a couple of nights so we also booked a pre wedding supper in the restaurant. The Manager Beata was extremely helpful with all our plans, the menu, the seating arrangement and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We have sampled pub lunches, Sussex Fayre night and dinner at The Swan and have always enjoyed our meal. The guests all remarked on how lovely their rooms were but if you are wanting more space than a standard double room then make sure you ask for the superior or executive double. Only downside was lack of hot water for a couple of rooms but the staff were eager to fix the problem. A great place to relax and enjoy......

Room Tip: Standard double rooms are on the small side.

We had a very nice 2 night stay at The Swan, which is newly refurbished and the rooms are lovely. We had a shower (which was modern and powerful) rather than a roll top bath but were warned of this ahead of our stay. There are lots of nice little touches - a good selection of hot drinks, fresh milk and little biscuits in a tin. We ate in the restaurant and both the dinner and breakfasts were lovely. The position, right in the centre of town, is great.

The Swan was let down by a few logistical details. The bed head was next to wall adjoining the corridor, which meant that you heard everyone go by, and could be a bit noisy. There was no ventilation, even in the bathroom, so there was condensation (it was cold and the windows looked out on a road so we were not inclined to leave the windows open). There were cooking smells which drifted up into our room at times.

The service in the restaurant was slow, although mostly friendly, for both dinner and breakfast. It snowed briefly our last morning, and there was no bread at breakfast as it had not been delivered and the staff did not have the initiative to go to the nearby supermarket to get any so we had a breadless breakfast.

So a very nice hotel generally which could be even better.
