Having recently complained strongly about the Crossbush in a previous review, the management of Whitbread responded quickly and positively to the complaint and invited myself and family back to the restaurant at their expense. We were treated very well and served personally by the General Manager - nothing was too much. Having had such an apalling experience the first time this was a very good corporate example of how to put things right. The food was good simple fare and served hot and promptly - a very good evening. Thank you Whitbread

This has to be one of the best chains we have eaten in. We got a special bogof ticket on main meals and a ticket for a bottle of wine. So why stay in and wash up. 4 of us dined and 2 kids mains, puds , x2 cider and a bottle of wine. X2 pops. 68 quid. Wow. Service top notch. Friendly team. A short wait for food yet no hurry. We was advised of a short wait. We used to go to the black rabbit an auful lot however thats changing. You need to give this place a go. Relax unwind what more can I say. See you lot soon.

Perhaps not a description to be expected from a 'chain' but this is a reliable place where you know what to expect - always nice, good food, well presented and at a reasonable price.
'Anyone and everyone' eats there - nice to take children and elderly people (but there are 3 steps up to the door). Also a nice restaurant to be adjoin the Premier Inn.
Right on the A27, a good place to 'fall into' whilst travelling.
We generally reserve a table but usually no problem.
Plenty of parking. Lovely staff. Toilets are 'acceptable'.

Having tried to book(at the last minute) several pub/restaurants in the Arundel area guided by Trip Adviser reviews, and having found them fully booked, I looked again at the Cross Bush which had not been well reviewed. There was plenty of space, and our party of 3 was easily accommodated at short notice. The menu was distinctly American, and although the party had been hoping for a "traditional Sunday lunch" this was not on offer, but having widened our expectations, we were not disappointed. The food was of a very good standard, and we liked the idea of "bottomless chips" which meant that we did not face piles of chips and less protein, but there were enough and the possibility of asking for more. The bottle of wine we ordered was reasonably priced and thoroughly enjoyed. Service was good if a little slow, but we all left feeling it rated a return visit.

Not a good experience food was poor quality and service was slow. The manageress didn't want to know and was less than helpful. But prior to this have eaten there a few times and was a lot better so maybe just a one off. But have not rushed back in case
