“Pricey palace”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

The entrance fee is pretty steep to get into the castle and the grounds. Luckily we had a small discount for being members of English Heritage. Both the castle and the grounds are very well maintained. If you have the money it is worth a look, and the views from the top are amazing.

“Pricey, but full day out”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Superb castle, well positioned and informative information plaques. I managed to traipse around for about 5 hours at 6 months pregnant without any trouble. Thoroughly recommend this whimsical, romantic setting for a relaxed day out.

“A Beautiful Castle”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

An extensive visit; well worth it as the family still use the castle ; yet many rooms are available to visit. The guides are extremely informative and helpful. They obviously love the place and convey their enthusiasm to the visitors. Many treasures and a beautiful decor to admire. Allow plenty of time and don't leave out the gardens.

“Amazing castle!”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

What an astoundingly beautiful and interesting place! We easily spent a whole day here, wandering through the rich in history castle, which had really friendly and knowledgable staff. The gardens and grounds were beautiful too, like stepping into another world altogether! Worth the entry fee definitely.

“Great day out.”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Not a cheap day out for the family but great value for money. Kept us entertained all day - our children subsequently visited with the school and still found more to do.
