“Amazing castle!”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

What an astoundingly beautiful and interesting place! We easily spent a whole day here, wandering through the rich in history castle, which had really friendly and knowledgable staff. The gardens and grounds were beautiful too, like stepping into another world altogether! Worth the entry fee definitely.

“Great day out.”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Not a cheap day out for the family but great value for money. Kept us entertained all day - our children subsequently visited with the school and still found more to do.

“Beautiful exhibition”

The perfect rainy-day entertainment. The castle rooms are beautifully presented, with the incredible library being our all time favourite! Definitely worth a visit.

“Interesting but could be more engaging for kids”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

Its a pretty and historically significant venue but it lacks the tourist friendly vibe - with the knowledgeable staff there to keep half an eye on the visitors.

I suspect they could try to find a way to bring it to life more - perhaps some actors to play historical scenes or some technology to show what it might have been like.

Gardens are very pretty too!
