This Wingwah has recently been extended and refurbished and due to the decor, furniture and the amount of tables they have crammed in, is even more like a works canteen than it was before. Add to that the incessant happy birthday routine which seems to happen every few minutes and you get the picture that the atmosphere is not for everybody. Starters are great, mains are a bit disappointing and the deserts are just disappointing.

You know the format: grab a plate, start at one end and shuffle round, building up a monster pile of deep fried wiggly bits or crunchy spicy pork or deep fried seaweed or shrimps in a jacket or chicken nuggets or spare ribs or.... there is a very good choice and you'll be surprised at how tasty the indian selection is. Only about 10 choices of Indian, but more than enough to develop an interesting custom platter. If you visit for an evening meal you can have Teriyaki (spelt rightly or wrongly, it's just as delicious).
Drinks service is quick - on rare occasions the waiter may become lost and you will have to give semaphore signals from a distance. Drinks are quite expensive though, so beware, and avoid the too salty foods (the Indian choices are quite salty, but I think they have reduced salt recently).
The restaurant was refurbished in 2013 (2012?) and still has a new feel. LED lighting and granite tiles and good seating plans. Toilets are clean and well-automated (although some tasks are obviously DIY!)
Value is really brilliant. You can't go to many places and eat yourself to bursting point and see a bill for only £15 or so. Give it a try!

Been here once before the revamp and it wasn't brilliant then. Now done up, they have tried to fit in far too many tables. The food was Ok but not a huge selection if you only want Chinese. The place was too warm and claustrophobic. Price not bad but I prefer cosmo in the city centre. Burton's wing wah is also much better. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon I'm sorry to say .

We have been to dine in this restaurant a few time but in an evening. We found going as soon as it opens at 5 better as its not as busy .. Food is great with a wide variety of dishes and deserts though I do find it over priced for an evening. Plates are cleared quickly.. And the service is fine although some look like they don't want to be there.
We visited the other day and decided to go on a lunch time. Big mistake ... Although it wasn't as busy as on an evening service was awful. Drinks took 50 mins to arrive and having to complain 3 times that we had not had them. Plates kept running out. Food kept running out and chocolate fountain etc were out of use. In paying at the till the lady was very rude. I wanted to tell her how disappointed I was this time round but she wanted to take a phone call while taking my payment. May be they were short staffed this time round what with it being half term but that doesn't excuse the rudeness. Not sure we will be returning.

If you go as a family group, I feel it is quite expensive per head. Plenty of choice available, mixed Chinese and Indian. Also had lunch there, better price, alot cheaper. Plenty of space to move around, ample car parking. Staff always friendly, remove dirty plates quickly. Great place to eat but as I said before bit expensive for an evening meal, especially if you are not inclined to eat absolutely loads.
