Booked in the restaurant for food, heard a few friends say they enjoy it there so decided to see what the fuss was. Must say the steak I had was truly exceptional. I've ate in a fair few expensive places in my time and this up there with some of the best. Good service, great food and a welcoming restaurant.

Don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to write one, as this is now a restaurant I visit time and time again. The artisan has become our 'local' on a Sunday afternoon due to the fabulous value 3 course menu - the food is absolutely gorgeous - a particular favourite is the chocolate/mocha pot desert - to die for!!
Have eaten off the normal menu a handful of times now and each time the food is fantastic - in particular the steaks with bloody mary butter...and the chips!
The staff upstairs are all lovely and can't do enough for you.
Would recommend to anyone. Ideal for a nice meal for two or perfect for families as we take out Son here and he loves it.

Booked a table for approx 20 people and they managed to fit us all in in a section to ourselves which was great. All the staff were brilliant and really helpful. All the food was amazing especially the steak. We had to pre-order our food as there was so many of us and they did get one order wrong but took that straight off the bill as we had to wait for it to be cooked from scratch again.
Would definitely recommend especially if you want a good steak.

The steak here is great. Tasty, succulent, perfectly cooked. The fat chips were delicious. It came with a bloody Mary butter, which did not add to the steak and would rather not have had it served on the steak, serve it on the side perhaps. I had bearnaise sauce, which was nice. The puddings were not good value at all. The creme brulee was tiny. The chocolate pot was nice but not worth the price. The apple pie portion was embarrassing. The presentation was awful, it looked like it had been dropped on the floor. and it was an inch wide at its crust end, and disappeared thinly from there! If you are going to charge over £5 for a dessert, then it must be an ample portion. A let down to the end of an excellent meal. Shame. I would eat here again, just would not have a pudding!

Had the fillet steak here last night. The wait was long but well worth it. The food was fab. Would recommend this bar for food as it is cooked to order. Didn't want to leave anything on the plate
