We came to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War armistice day service and it was great to seat that loads of people were heading towards the park to be involved. They were of all ages and ethnic backgrounds and it was a proud moment during the 2 minute silence when everyone respected those that had fought for us. This is what the park is all about and thank you the people of Coventry for taking part in this important ceremony.

This is a decent park for a walk, or other recreation. It is large, allowing walks of over a mile. Dogs are regularly walked there. It is a memorial park with very many trees planted as memorials, as well as the location of the main civic cenotaph.

The park does contain recreational facilities - playground, skateboard park, tennis courts, football pitches and so forth. But there are large areas which are less developed

The park was in excellent condition and looked beautiful in the autumn sunshine. There is a nice variety of things to see, with the skate park and memorial and cafe. We called in the aviary but there were only two birds and I don’t like to see caged birds anyway so I hope they are running it down. There was a nice Remembrance Day display in the visitor centre as well. Nice cafe with friendly staff and great hot chocolate.

The war memorial park as it suggests has war memorials in it, but apart from the formal zone there are areas with equipment for children to play and for sport and also a country park area. Good for walking the dogs, but pay attention to signage which indicates where dogs can be off leads or must be ‘under close control’, or on leads.

Fantastic skate park and climbing frames. The colours of the trees are wonderful in October. There are two very nice cafes, serving lovely hot drinks and snacks. Well worth a visit.
