we have sed this hotel before and commented that it needed updating. we stopped at the end of july and the new owners have started on big plans for updating. they are really welcoming people and we really enjoyed our stay and their company. we look forward to going back and seeing how things change over time.

I used to use this hotel a lot whilst on business in Coventry but it went down hill so I moved on. Having driven past regularly I had noticed a lot of work going on so decided to give it another try this week and was not disappointed. The bedroom and bathroom was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable, still a very small TV, but otherwise reasonably well equipped.
The shower is over the bath and not thermostatically controlled so is a bit of a fiddle to set up from the bath taps and did tend to vary wildly in temperature.

The bar offers a good range of drinks and I was told more beers are being added in the near future, the Guinness was good.

The food in the restaurant was excellent and not over priced, the service both in the evening and at breakfast was also very good.

The car park is free and quite large right by the main entrance.

My only problem was that on arrival they had no record of my booking for two rooms despite the booking having been made direct on the telephone only 5 days before! This was quickly resolved as fortunately despite being fully booked they had received a cancelation just hours before my arrival.

They have a little more to do, but seem to be getting the place back up to an acceptable standard. Overall at £58 B&B for a double room with single occupancy I was a happy customer.

We had our wedding reception here last week. The food was exceptional and the service, absolutely superb! Nothing was too much trouble. The new owners have definitely made their mark! We shall be visiting again soon.

Room Tip: We stayed in the bridal suite .............Four poster bed, so comfortable and the room was superb!!

What a fantastic experience! We attended my brother and sister in law's wedding here. The food was completely amazing. It is apparently well known for it's food...We know why! As for the staff, so professional while at the same time creating a flexible friendly feel. Please give this place a try!

I recently stayed at this hotel with my son, sister, mother, step father and grandmother we are originally from swansea and were in coventry for a wedding party. When we arrived we were greated by a friendly member of staff who checked us in i believe he was called bruno. We stayed at the hotel for drinks before getting ready to go out we fancied something light to eat so bruno made us some sandwiches which were not on the menu but was kind enough to offer to do so. We were so comfy we didnt want to leave to get ready for the party the staff were amazing so frindly couldnt do enough for you the were kind to my son and he even got to ride on a horse that was there which he enjoyed. Only downside was we decided to hve breakfast the next morning and 4 of us went for the full english breakfast but we all got different things so missing beans, some no sausages there was no consitance with the breafasts, although they were very tasty and warm. Would definitely stay again. Rooms were clean and had tea and coffee facilities with little biscuits had a great nights sleep.

I wish there was a "good" category. We stayed 2 nights while visiting family at short notice. We used to eat here when the restaurant was famous, but recent reviews sugested standrads had gone down. We decided to risk it as we got a very good last minute deal and were not going to be there much, and we were glad we did. The outside of the hotel is very neglected and the inside very dated and in need of redecoration. That said, our room was comfortable, clean and well equipped and the breakfast was very good indeed. Staff told us that the new owners since November are now investing after a period of neglect and they were welcoming and helpful. I couild not recommnend it if the purpose of a visit is to enjoy the hotel itself, but if you want a base for work or pleasure off the A45 and out of town yet very close, it does the job. I hope we can return when teh place is back to its former best and to be able to recommend it for itself too.

Room Tip: Apparently room 10 has been refurbished and others are to be done soon. Our room, 14, was the last o...

Not too bad for a 3 star, staff were friendly, room was a good size, with tea & coffee, tv, wifi, the shower was a bit tricky, either scalding hot or ice cold! and the decor could do with a revamp, but overall, you get what you pay for, Ideal for business, but i'd look elsewhere if I was on holiday.
