We found this hotel on a booking site, at £37 a night including breakfast, we initially thought it was a good deal, we were very wrong. During the booking process the website did not specify my card would be charged, so i made the booking. I called the hotel to confirm my card would not be charged and the receptionist ensured me it would be okay to change the card details when we arrived, so my boyfriend could pay instead. However upon arrival, we were then told my card had been charged, it could not be rectified and there was nothing they could do about it. The receptionist on the phone had either lied, or was seriously untrained.

The room we were allocated was nothing like the photos on the website, it was tired and had black mould growing on the walls. Then 5minutes later, VERY loud music started blaring from downstairs, a wedding was happening right beneath us. We complained to the receptionist, who blankly told us we were notified of this before arrival, which we were not. We asked for a refund as we had had enough, however they refused to give us our money back, and eventually moved us to another room. According to the manager this was a suite and 'very nice'... it was not. It was again mouldy, outdated and the lamps didn't even have bulbs in. The bathroom wasn't clean and we could still hear the music blaring. During the evening, we had asked for some spare pillows for the room, the receptionist said it would take 5minutes, after around 40minutes they still hadn't arrived.
The breakfast was also a disgrace, an apparent continental buffet it had little choice, and was in a mess. The tea cups were dirty and the restaurant was unacceptable with the wallpaper coming off the walls and dirty tables.
Overall we would not recommend this hotel to anyone, it may have cheap rates, but there are many other hotels with these prices at a MUCH better standard. The location of the hotel was also ridiculous, and it should seriously be refurbished, have better trained staff, and think about there advertising as I was very unhappy they had charged my card already.

Stayed here recently and was very impressed with room and facilities. Considering I got a double room for 2 through laterooms for £29 per night it was far better than I expected, and have booked to stay there again soon.

The hotel is in a pretty shabby state but that said, it's cheap which is why we chose it on this occassion. I slept well as the bed was comfortable and the room was as clean as it needed to be although could probably have done with a better vacuuming job. The TV worked, the water was hot and the staff pleasant.

The continental breakfast that was included in the price was also good (considering what we paid).

If you're looking for a cheap place to stay for a night this hotel is adequate but just don't expect too much from it.

But, I won't be rushing back there.

We stopped here overnight on our way back from a caravan break in Blackpool, and were very impressed with the hotel and staff. The room was clean tidy and very comfortable, the staff were helpful and courteous.
The restaurant was excellent with a comprehensive menu the steak didn;t need a sharp knife and, the fish was pure heaven and a reasonable price. The continental breakfast was very good with a range worthy of one of their American cousins, wish we had booked more nights, highly recommend a visit. The 11am check out time was great so no rush to check out.

We arrived late at the Hotel and received a good welcome from the staff on reception. We had booked two rooms; a family and a double; as we are a family of 5. The rooms were good with the family room having an actual bed rather than a bed sofa and this was postioned nicely so as to give it some privacy. It also has a small bar which was lovely after a long drive to be able to get a pint and glass of wine to take back to the room. We were on floor 2 and despite the road heard very little noise through the night. Breakfast was ok we had the continental for kids and english (extra £4.95) for us, and ingredients were fresh. We were going to the NEC for the Gadget Show and this provided a very good pit stop as it was easily accessible from here only about 20 mins down the road. All in all very good value and pleasant stay.
