I attended this hotel for a wedding reception and was absolutely disgusted with the service, the food and the hotel as a whole.
I could list each individual item but it would take far too long.
The food was cold, no salt/pepper or soup spoons on the table.
The head table was not served first.
Guests were expected to go to the main reception bar to buy certain drinks that were not stocked in the function room.
The bar ran out of certain beers/drinks throughout the evening.
The chef served the evening buffet with blood/food stains on his clothes.
The staff were unpleasant/unhelpful/disorganised and damn right rude.
I have complained in writing to both the hotel and the head office and after three weeks I have not received any response for the hotel - the head office has referred the complaint back to the hotel - each time I call to speak to the manager he is unavailable as soon as the word complaint is mentioned!
I would advise anyone who is thinking of using this hotel as a function room to avoid it at all costs.

We stayed for one night. There was a Wedding Reception going on and so the music was loud, but it finished at a reasonable time. The public areas were nicely presented, and the room was clean and comfortable. Would certainly consider staying there again.

To be honest, our expectations for the hotel were low. We knew it many years as ago as the Godiva hotel which was underwhelming to say the least. What a pleasant suprise. The lobby and public rooms are modern and clean, the room was spacious, clean and well-appointed. The Staff were cheerful, responsive and helpful. The location for central Coventry cannot be beat. The cherry on top was the very reasonable and filling breakfast. And the price was just great!
