The room was spacious, modern and very clean. The shower was an over bath type so we had the option of a bath or shower.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
There was a selection of pillows in the room with varying firmness which was a nice touch as I like a firm pillow and my wife prefers a soft.
We ate in the restaurant at night and the food was acceptable for price and quality but nothing special however the breakfast was very good even though it was an extra it was worth it. A large selection and well cooked. The bacon was fried which to me makes all the difference from the usual steamed.
NOTE - The hotel has no parking and the car park next door costs £8.10 for 24 hours and is run by Parking Eye so be careful not to leave without having paid enough to cover your stay.
I don't really see why this hotel is ranked No1 in Birmingham but would stay again if we were in Coventry.
Coventry its self was a disappointment. We assumed that it would be an old world type of place similar to York but the city centre is jut like any were else with lots of shopping complexes.

Well located and perfect place to stay when visiting Coventry.
Gentle hosts both at hotel and at the Costa Cafe & bar.
I recommend to use the breakfast service.
Special mention for a high quality room cleaning service.

Stayed for two nights - very comfortable, clean, spacious room with huge window (albeit not a very inspiring view!). Loved the 1930s architecture and the feeling that the place had some history behind the corporate image. Liked being within walking distance of station and city centre - particularly important as we had decided to travel by train in light of cost of car park.

We found ourselves staying at this hotel in between moving house and moving to Egypt. We originally stayed for two nights then another two due to flight problems. We went to the Ramada first and were disappointed at the lack of assistance and felt we were a hindrance rather than potential valued customers. Walking into the Premier Inn was a totally different experience and we felt right at home. The hotel is a fabulous building with an amazing theatre attached, the food was fantastic and the staff were very professional, we found it faultless and will be returning to stay in June.

Room Tip: Our second room 358 I believe had two large windows instead of one small, it was a the back of the building overlooking the theatre roof.

Had a brief overnight stay on route to the Lake District however this time was a little longer. Very nice rooms, convenient location and friendly staff. If I were to criticise, I would say that 30 minutes is a bit short when WiFi is advertised as free.
